So, our collective will have its first birthday soon. February 28th is the date of the email that started it all, April 9th is obviously the original day of the Rapture, so we planned something big to go with it.

This is gonna be a one month event, starting February 28th, which is a Friday, with a generic release but tied to the beginning of the “C3 Month”, publishing that call to arms email and announcing the month of “festivities”.

      VOICES OF THE AUTHORING WORLD

      – We want this to really be about the project and its authors. So, we’re gonna hear from the people involved about their relationship with C3.

From you, the authors: how you got to know C3, why you joined, how you work on a daily basis. We want to show the world how hard you work and how thankful the community should be for the hours you put in. We want to showcase you and your talent. Also, this is supposed to be slightly skewed toward how cool the collective is: if you happen to drop a compliment to your fellow authors, excellent. It’s a self-celebrative thing: we want to feature you and your story but we would also love to show the community how good we are as a collective and how C3 inspired you keep on charting, doing more, etc.

From our community: how our users discovered customs, what’s their best C3 moment, how C3 songs made them play RB3 over and over. We’re gonna have a forum thread for the community to post in and we will schedule blog posts from you, diluted over the month of March.

FROM THE EYES OF THE CREATORS

      – We’re gonna have a “from the eyes of the creators” series in which week by week one of the 5 admins (current and former) will talk about C3 and how it started/how it developed/our relationship with the group/etc. We will publish each post on Tuesday starting from March 4th. We’re gonna dig deep in our project’s vault and recover unused Rapture art, old test logos, text exchange on how the project came together, etc.

      THEMED MONTH

      – We’re gonna have themed releases throughout March, leading up to the big release of April 9th. Nothing fancy or big, but we’re gonna do themed releases that actually remind people of what we did during our first year. In example, a second covers pack, a new Weird Al pack, etc. all with a nice recall on the blog post to the original releases. They don’t need to be v2 of packs, they can even just be collection of songs from artists featured on different weeks, that way we can link back to more old releases. This way we do a nice build up AND we remind new users of what we released. As things stand, this is a tentative content planning:

2 weeks of artists already released

1 week of new FtV material, to recall our FtV output

1 week of old theme/new artists

      1 week TBD

Again, this is tentative, suggestions are very welcome, just keep in mind the “retrospective” feel.

ONE YEAR OF C3 RELEASE DAY

      – Finally, we’re gonna have a special release on Wednesday April 9th, instead of Friday 11th. We’re gonna release something as true as possible to Rock Band, which means it’s gonna be multitracks only. There’s a fair amount of songs around with multitracks available, if you don’t know where to look ask. We’re gonna keep this a mainly mainstream affair. There are gonna be no restriction on the amount of songs a single author can contribute but we always want to keep an overall 2:1 ratio of mainstream songs:”RBN material”. So if I do 2 mainstream songs, in example, another author can do an obscure one. Again, you, as an individual, don’t need to do 2 mainstream songs to do a single obscure/non-mainstream one, just make sure that when you submit you pick(s) there’s that 2:1 overall balance.

Alright, let’s the planning being, and pitch your multitracks as early as possible!

I’ll do Earth, Wind & Fire – “September” for the multitrack day.

I’m not sure where to find multitracks, so I’d definitely like to know.

Since I have the 2 Nirvana multitracks that were floating around for a few years, I can do Pennyroyal Tea, if I can find a way to get the missing vocals (Moist Vagina doesn’t seem to be a great candidate for a semi-official anniversary release, for some reason… and IIRC the tracks are cut short anyway).

I have other multitracks somewhere on my HDD, but that’s mostly modern/electronic music (stuff like David Guetta), so like clintilona I would’nt mind knowing where to find some more

What happened to the EBA pack?

Could you list up the multitracks somewhere? I am sure there at least have to be 1 song in there that is big enough for the multitrack pack (and hey, genre variation is always nice)

First of all, please make absolutely sure to NOT divulge the fact that we use the service, to avoid possibly the company changing the way they serve up audio files. It is very important, please keep it for yourself and for customs uses.

The best place, though relatively limited in scope, is Jammit.com. If you find something interesting there we will explain how to get the audio tracks once you bought them. If you are extremely strapped for cash and really want to do one of the songs they have, PM me and I’ll buy it for you.

Btw bonus points if you choose to do Let Me Entertain You. Btw, Jammit songs come with accurate tabs done on the actual stems: needless to say, they are awesome.

There are other free sources we’ll be posting later on.

Well that explains all those awesome Pantera multitracks you did.

Unless a better option pops up, put me down for Too Young to Fall in Love by Motley Crue. Would a good way to get the audio be by going through the headphone jack from the iPad app into a sound recorder program?

I’m doing “Don’t Know Why” by Norah Jones. Not only has the album that the song is on sold like crazy, I think Jazz is not really represented in Rock Band at all very well. I’ve changed my choice like twice now, but I’m sticking with this one cause I really like the song.

Recording inline is never the optimal solution.

As I said, we can teach you how to get the audio out in digital format. Plus, a bit of audio engineering, very very simple, will be needed to recover the backing track. Any author buying tracks off Jammit (pretty please La Villa Strangiato and Let Me Entertain You) can send me a PM to receive the instructions. NOT Nemo as previously stated, send ME a Pm. He’s retired, don’t bug him! :haw:

I’ve actually been finishing up a custom of Can You Feel My Heart by Bring Me the Horizon, I figure they’re big enough to be considered mainstream within their genre. I’d love to be a part of the multitrack pack.

Nope, mainstream withing a genre won’t cut it. I actually don’t know how mainstream the band is anyway but with mainstream we mean mainstream, not “not THAT alternative inside their genre”. Currently though we have only mainstream songs on the list, so I don’t see that as a problem.

I currently have multitracks for these:

Sun is Shining – The Fireman (Paul McCartney)

                      Tonight – Seether

                      FtV I could do:

If You Could Only See – Tonic

                      Real World – Matchbox Twenty

Sun is Shining is my preference. I can commit to one song for now.
