This song was a demo by a band that went on to be quite successful under a different name, suggested by Michael Stipe. I heard this song first in an 80’s raunchfest movie with characters named Pondo, Studly and Elbow. The female vocalist of this band has also recorded as a solo artist, in other bands, and contributed music to movies and TV as well.

 

The movie is The Party Animal.

The artist is Dream 6.

The song is Rain.

Dream 6 later changed their name to Concrete Blonde as suggested by Michael Stipe describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.

 

The lead singer, Johnette Napolitano, has been recorded as a solo artist.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Today Sygenysis and I bring you a small Valentine gift. Due to some last minute changes, the release for one track has been delayed.
