Forced Gender-Neutral Political Correctness turns my stomach is all.

Grammar tangent:
No no no, ‘their’ and ‘its’ are not proper.
Since the preceding statement is “to each” it must use a singular pronoun, which eliminates ‘their’, as that is plural.
‘Its’ is not proper either because it is improper to use to describe a human being.
It’s absolutely fine and proper to say “to each his own,” because in any case that you want to generalize the target’s gender (for simplicity’s sake), you use the masculine form.
But in the case that you are some butt-hurt Modern day political-correctness Nazi want to be progressive, you can say “to each his or her own.” And that’s it.
On the topic of the releases:
While it may not be a “download them all” sort of week for me, I’m sure others will find plenty in the great releases this week. I’ll be picking up “Only You” by The Flying Pickets (for my tastes, I can always count on Farottone) and hoping the original version of “Fuck You” makes its appearance some day

Honestly, “to each his own” is an idiom, and as an idiom, the ‘correct’ phrasing is and always will be “to each his own” (as that is the idiom), which is one of the reasons why I noted that “his” is also proper. If you’re trying to twist the idiom to remove a perceived ‘gender’ bend, you can certainly say “to each their own”, because they is an accepted singular or plural gender-neutral pronoun in the modern vernacular.
Of note, “they”/”their” was used as a singular gender-neutral pronoun back before “he”/”his” became the preference ‘du jour’ (in the 18th century, or so). We currently use “he”/”his” not necessarily for simplicity’s sake, but because up until the last half century or so they were the gender-neutral set in addition to the masculine set, and that was the time around which we started shifting back towards “they” or the use of both gender pronouns at once (e.g. “his or her”, as you suggest).
As you correctly note, the use of “one” and “it” are only acceptable in certain contexts, as they have a very impersonal tone (generally reserved for formal texts or referring to things that are not ‘persons’), so that leaves either “he”/”his” or “they”/”their”… both of which are correct (or at least one of which is incorrect, depending on how traditional/formal you are).
(The Latin phrase behind the idiom uses a gender-neutral pronoun, anyway, so depending on who you ask and how much of a translation vs. transliteration you want to do, you could end up with either expression or something else along the same lines.)

These threads are to give feedback to the authors who spent time working on the songs. We, the authors, should know it very well and should know far better than to engage in a pronoun nitpick war. Let’s close the discussion on that and keep the discussion on the release. If anybody is offended because he or she has been referred to as a male or a female can PM the author of the original message.
I wanted to chime in on the Fuck You song. I meant to play it at the pub last week but didn’t get a chance. I did last night. At first people were like…WTF is going on Nemo. And then it hits. And then everyone loved it. Ah good times. Good cover. I also enjoyed the cover of Shake It Off we got recently, which also got played at the pub to the amusement of all.
Now if someone would chart this:
I would play that so hard. SO. HARD.
EDIT: While i’m at it. The metadata for Fuck You is still wrong. If you’re marking the song as a cover (which it is now), then it should be As made famous by Cee-Lo Green. That should only be used, in my opinion, if it’s one of those kinds of covers that try to replicate the original as much as possible. Think Harmonix’s Wave Group covers or the covers from http://www.karaoke-version.com. In this case, this is a transformative work, and it should really be considered a master track by Sleeping With Sirens, so it should not be marked as a cover in game, and it should not be listed As made famous by Sleeping With Sirens, since, well, they didn’t make it famous. Cee-Lo Green did.
I’ve been downloading and playing songs from past releases. I know the Sleeping with Sirens Fuck you was updated, but i downloaded this about 2 weeks ago and the lyrics have underscores instead of apostrophes on some words. Just wanted to know if you you knew this. I filed a bug report. http://pksage.com/ccc/bugs/view.php?id=247
