At what point during the Magma project building stage does the gender of the vocalist get set in stone. I note on a project I have created – I have inadvertantly left gender Male.. I go back in to make the change and a number of the dropdowns on the GameData tab are greyed out…. including Vocalist Gender…
Guess I could simply create a new project but wondered why I can’t change for an existing,
Thanks
It is never “set in stone” – you can always change it, as long as you have Vocals enabled. If it’s greyed out, it’s because you have the Vocals track disabled in the Audio tab.
But why in heck do you have Magma v3.1.0?

Guess that makes sense.. (other than if you haven’t done vocals and the artist is female… – but I guess according to the script , vocals should always be done)……
Had no idea that Magma had been revised since I installed….just grabbed version 3.2.9.
Cheers
I believe the default setting is male vocalist. But you can always cheat by enabling vocals, changing the gender, saving the project, then disabling vocals. That’ll change the value that ends up in the songs.dta file.
The fact that you have to have a vocalist on screen even when not charted annoys me, same as for not having a keys player when you also have guitar and bass. But I guess it’s one of the shortcomings of RB3 that we hope will be addressed by RB4 when it comes out.

You beat me to it… just done the same!
