Screw it, can’t sleep so here’s mine.
RB1 = 28/58
RB2 = 28/84
LRB = 11/45
RB3 = 37/83
RB4 = 12/52
Percentage wise RB1 wins, but RB3 gets points for having the most songs I was happy to see when they were announced. RB4 needs a strong finish to surpass LRB to not be the worst of them all. Not saying much though as I was never fond of LRB. Never even finished playing it actually.
August 29, 2015 at 10:25 pm #453934RB1 = 20/58
RB2 = 26/84
LRB = 18/45
RB3 = 26/83
RB4 = 24/52
Heres my list but I can honestly say after playing each game the numbers would be slightly higher.
August 30, 2015 at 3:34 am #453943I tried doing the list thing, and I got my wife to cooperate and do it as well. Note that for me this exercise is a bit useless because 1) for the vast majority of songs I can’t tell which songs I liked prior to and which songs I like after playing the games and 2) having played the RB3 songs so so so many many times, I know I have stockholm syndrome with some of them. So my songs are more in the “I enjoy these songs and would pick them in a setlist” kind of vein rather than “I loved these songs prior to playing them in the game.” Also, many of the songs I marked for RB4 are songs I don’t know but I enjoy playing those artists consistently so I expect I will enjoy them.
Me:
RB1 – 15/58
RB2 – 26/84
RB3 – 48/83
RB4 – 17/52
LRB – 17/45
Wife (this one is done as intended, or so she says…so these are songs she would have been excited about prior to playing the game):
RB1 – 8/58
RB2 – 8/84
RB3 – 12/83
RB4 – 4/52
LRB – 10/45
August 30, 2015 at 4:48 am #453948I’ll join on the numbers game after my shift tomorrow. But I do know that for the first three games and all the spinoffs, I not once viewed any of the setlists or their songs prior to playing. Kept things surprising that way. That, and I got each copy much later after initial release.
Apart from RB4 being only for Xbox One and PS4, something about RB4 just doesn’t sit right with me. I mentioned this in another thread, but I feel like after all the instrument choices introduced with RB3, the fact that those instruments are limited to JUST RB3 make them seem like a wasted, though very fun, investment. C3, I feel, gives the Mustang/Squier and the Keyboard much needed life in light of RB4’s impending arrival.
August 31, 2015 at 12:46 am #454001It’s difficult to remember how I felt about each soundtrack prior to release, so probably been harder on these then I actually was at the time:
RB1: 25/58
RB2: 19/84
LRB: 31/45
RB3: 41/83
RB4: 15/51
I’m sure I will like more RB4 songs after a few play through’s.
August 31, 2015 at 3:57 pm #454027Oh why not, everyone’s doing it.
I’ll play the game both ways. First number is how many I liked before the game’s release, second number is how many I like after the game’s release. By “like” I mean I like to listen to them even outside of the game; a lot of songs I don’t “like” are still fun to play in-game.
RB1: 17/58, then 24/58
RB2: 21/84, then 30/84
LRB: 15/45, then 17/45
RB3: 36/83, then 46/83
RB4: 10/51
So RB3 wins, both in raw numbers and in percentages.
RB4 is actually more like nine and two halves. I’m excited for “No One like You”, but less excited about a modern rerecord. And I still can’t decide if I like “Your Love”. For four other groups, I’m not big on the on-disc songs but would still love to see more DLC from them. Those are Aerosmith, Heart, Rush and the Who.
September 3, 2015 at 3:24 am #454149September 3, 2015 at 4:26 am #454150Was that an official RTM/Gold disc? If it was an earlier build, then all bets are off. I did beta testing for RB2, and there were a few songs on that disc that were eventually sent to DLC instead.

September 13, 2015 at 11:20 pm #454863September 14, 2015 at 12:10 pm #454892Maybe one of these songs will convince me to pre order.
September 14, 2015 at 2:07 pm #454898September 14, 2015 at 2:08 pm #454899Final songs for RB4:
