August 24, 2015 at 3:20 am #453418You know, I feel for those of you who need to consider buying a new console for RB4. I mean, I would have done it, but I already have all current gen consoles. But I do think it is up to HMX to present a value proposition that justifies the expense. I don’t think what we’ve seen gets to that point. Of course, maybe it’s worth it just to support the franchise.
For me, Forza Horizon did such an amazing job on the Xbox 360 that it was worth it for me to get a Xbox One so I can play Forza Horizon 2. It is still the only Xbox One game I have and probably will stay that way until RB4.
The Last of Us had such great reviews on PS3 that it made me buy a PlayStation console for the first time in my life so I could play the Remastered release on PS4 (I got the PS1 after the PS4!).
Those two games were worth buying a console for. Even as someone who preordered the band bundle on day one, I can’t help but feel that what we’ve been shown falls short of being enough with RB4.
Console gaming is so last decade. RB4 was probably the last hope for those of us who moved on to PC gaming. They failed again.
XboxOne and PS4 is the smart way to release Rock Band 4 because if Harmonix made a PC version, nerds would pirate the shit out of DLC content. Not Saying XboxOne and PS4 will ever be hackable but its the smart way at this point to release this game.
You missed interpreted the post. RB4 was the last hope to get some PC gamers to buy a console. This awful set list is bringing back the nightmares of playing RB3 online and we’re all playing the same 5 songs over and over because no one has DLC and Harmonix saves all the good songs for DLC. Harmonix has turned into QVC, casinos, freemium games, alcohol, etc. Generating all their money off addicted degenerate junkies who have to keep buying DLC for their fix. The rest of us don’t need it and have better things to spend our money on. And that’s why their market has dwindle down to almost nothing. That dishonest business model.

August 24, 2015 at 1:49 pm #453449So, my thoughts.
- “Caught Up In You” is, by far, my favourite .38 Special song, so like with Spin Doctors, HMX has done right by me.
- Not a big Artic Monkeys fan in the first place, but “Arabella” might grow on me. We’ll see.
- Never heard anything by The Both before, but “Milwaukee” is definitely a song I will sing the [expletive] out of.
- Cake is a good get. Good party song but honestly I’ve never been a fan!
- “Little White Church” sounds like it will be a pretty good harmonies track. A lot of the pop-country stuff is.
- Lucious continues the trend of acts I’ve never heard of but songs I do like. This is such a strong vocals tracklist.
- MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES WOOO HARMONIES PARTY TIME SO LONG CUSTOM
- I am OK with more Tijuana Sweetheart. The TS/Vagiant stuff is always good. This is gonna be up there with Trash Candy for me.
- I’m legit shocked we got Protomen, but this song is 80s as [expletive] and awesome and I am glad.
- I’m lukewarm to this Soundgarden song but glad to see more ‘exclusivity’ strikes.
August 24, 2015 at 2:23 pm #453452I can’t believe they finally used Little Big Town and it wasn’t “Boondocks”. I never thought they’d ever be in the game and they don’t use “the hit”. I hate when that happens, but maybe it’ll show one day. 38 special and soundgarden is good. Never a fan of Cake, but besides that all their “newer” music in the game really bums me out. I know there needs to be some new music in the game for the young people begging their parents to get the game for them, but this track list is the heaviest in the modern music department, and I am not a fan.
August 24, 2015 at 2:44 pm #453453“Light Up the Night” removed from my thread.
August 24, 2015 at 3:03 pm #453456The ProtomenAugust 24, 2015 at 3:53 pm #453462In anticipation of further takedowns from the database, I’m actually following TrojanNemo’s advice (or his wonderful sarcasm) and downloading everything. And boy does this take awhile.
August 24, 2015 at 4:30 pm #453471Caught Up in You is a good get. Everything else, meh. The more songs that get announced the more I am dreading having to play all the crap just to get to the few songs I will enjoy.
90%+ of the announced songs thus far, if they were available as customs today, would not even make it in my set list for RB3. Starting to strongly consider cancelling my guitar bundle and band bundle pre-orders. This title may end up being something I pick up digitally after the dust has settled and e-drum and legacy adapters have all been ironed out. This is too hard to justify spending anything more than that on this game.
August 24, 2015 at 5:14 pm #453479The ProtomenTssss the protomen? what about the protowomen, tsss tssss.
August 24, 2015 at 5:40 pm #453483So we have, what, around 10 more songs that still need to be announced after today’s 10 song reveal? 10 more songs would put us at 61. I hope they saved the best for last!
