I’m definitely not buying an Xbox One just to play Your Love. Someone needs to release it before it’s too late.
August 18, 2015 at 8:13 pm #453016It’s already too late, in case you haven’t been paying attention.

August 18, 2015 at 9:05 pm #453022I don’t want to jump ship to Sony or Microsoft just yet. As a devoted Nintendo guy (with an exception for GH1, GHII, Katamari, Kingdom Hearts), it’s a huge price tag to partake in Rock Band 4 just to play songs that get axed from the database, even more so since I still haven’t gotten a Wii U yet. I have such a backlog of games to complete, dating back to the Super Nintendo.
And regarding Van Halen, I fell out of favor of the Guitar Hero engine after GHIII. II was a such a great game that had a really really good setlist, and I felt a bit let down by the presentation of III and Aerosmith, what with the strange character models and a tendency towards silly or kitsch.
August 18, 2015 at 9:26 pm #453025I actually switched from PS3 to Xbox 360 when they announced RBN and basically I already had most of the DLC released and a ton of instruments, so while I am too a bit sore for having to buy an Xbox One, I have to say I don’t see switching console as such an impossible hurdle.
August 18, 2015 at 9:33 pm #453026True, but I wish I had that kind of money just laying around. Especially to grab all of the DLC I currently have all over again on the new system.
Blah, rent and bills. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_happy.png” />;;

August 19, 2015 at 12:01 am #453033I’m excited for Van Halen to be in RB4. Yes, I most likely have all the stuff that will be released as DLC, due to customs and Guitar Hero VH, but I will proudly support Harmonix and buy whatever DLC they release that are songs I enjoy. Customs have made me keep my desire for Rock Band alive during the years without any DLC. If not for customs, I know I would not be anywhere near as psyched about RB4 at this point.
My Xbox One is ready to go for RB4! Im really psyched to be playing Panama on it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
August 19, 2015 at 2:28 am #453046While I enjoy playing customs, especially since I can make my own charts for bands that nobody has ever heard of (Ad Hoc Troubador, anyone?), access to multitracks is a key difference for me. As a “real” musician for decades, I lose the “feel” of a song if I can entirely mess up while my part keeps on playing. Good multitracks are far too rare in the customs world.
That’s why I want more official DLC. Having the stem duck-out brings it alive for me.
On the other hand, I’ve yet to buy a console for this generation, so RB4 is going to be later purchase for me since I’ll wait for another “must-have” game or two to also come out on Xbox One (like a proper sequel/reboot of old faves like Burnout, Crazy Taxi, Jet Grind Radio). Just can’t bring myself to buy a console for one game, especially with their cost these days, not to mention (mostly) new peripherals. Maybe by the time I’m ready, all the new instruments will be showing up in the used shops. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
(That, or if they bring RBN back? I’ll be on board IMMEDIATELY!)

I tell people I bought my XBox 360 just to play Rock Band, but the truth is I brought two games home that first day: Rock Band and Burnout Paradise. I must confess I would also buy a current-gen Burnout on day one. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen, at least not as well as it might have, since Criterion has announced they are stepping away from racing games.
August 19, 2015 at 1:25 pm #453069A little off-topic, but this seems to be the most active RB4 topic: has anything substancial been said about the single player mode? As it stands, it’s the mode I’m most interested in, but there’s almost no info I can find about it.
Also, it may have had a full GH release, but don’t discount the power of Van Halen in RB…

August 19, 2015 at 4:07 pm #453087All I’ve gotten so far for Xbone is Roundabout. Can’t think of anything else I want to pick up for the near future, will likely stick to PS4 for multiplats (Fallout 4, and…can’t think of anything else).
