Will ION drums work with XBOX one? From the looks of it, me thinks not.
Question: What about other instrument controllers like Mad Catz’ Pro Drum Kit, Keyboards or real MIDI Drums & Keyboards?
Answer: Mad Catz’ Rock Band 3 wireless Pro Drums and Cymbals work great on Rock Band 4. However, Keyboards are not supported in Rock Band 4. Wired instrument controllers using the MIDI Box or the Fender™ Mustang™ Guitar for Rock Band 3 are also not supported.

Looks like it will just plug into a USB port on the XBone. Speaking of which I’ve now used up all the USB ports on my XBox One with this adapter, an external hard drive, and a charge cable I use for a wireless controller without batteries to make it wired and lighter. I assume Microsoft will release a slim version of the XBone at some point with more ports.
EDIT: I also just forgot all 3 of my mics are wired! Crap! There is only 3 ports on the XBone so I will technically never be able to have harmonies AND wireless instruments because of the legacy adapter. Man, that sucks…
August 24, 2015 at 4:04 pm #453467That’s a good price too. $20 on top of the game price? Hmmm. I hope they do sell them separately too. I might need one for proper full band playback. Not to mention I prefer my GH guitars.

There is such a thing as a USB hub. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
August 24, 2015 at 4:57 pm #453475There is such a thing as a USB hub. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />This is true, but is yet another $10 I have to spend to get RB4 (- keys and pro guitar) onto my XBone when no other game will utilize this USB hub. I guess I could use it for my computer or something….
August 24, 2015 at 5:30 pm #453482The official compatibility list on the HMX forum didn’t seem to confirm Ion drum rocker support when I just chanced upon it now. Is support for it specifically declared someplace?

August 24, 2015 at 6:08 pm #453486I think he asks because the OP asked about Ion/e-kit support and you posted a link to the legacy adapter. I was also thrown off by that, as it doesn’t seem appropriate to this thread. But whatever
August 24, 2015 at 6:17 pm #453487I apologize for posting a link to the legacy game controller adapter in the Legacy Game Controller Adapter thread.

August 24, 2015 at 6:41 pm #453490Still no reason for me to get RB4 then. I’m not keen on buying another one of MadCatz’ terrible drum kits.

August 24, 2015 at 9:58 pm #453507Well, they did. But they can’t improve the quality to that of a $300 drumset, and include it with everything else in the bundle for $250, can they? So you’d need another Ion set as I’m sure regular users wouldn’t want to pay $600 for a band kit that included drums up the quality you seem to want. The best solution is an adapter or Ion to get their shit together and make it compatible. I really think the heat should be on them, not Madcatz or HMX.
