Rock Band 3 BLUS V 1.0!
466 DLCs installed
Downloaded all songs in C3 database that had links under PS3 (so no conversion).
2759 total songs:)
I let the DLCs load before I start choosing songs (works everytime)
I scrolled through the whole list in the game to see which freezes the console. The following did.
-Mario Slider
-L-Train Moonrise Part 1 1x & 2x
-The Devils – World Exclusive
-Van Halen – I ain’t talklin’ ’bout love
Hall & Oates freezes almost at the end of the song.
Gotye works.
Will post as I continue playing more songs.
Great job guys, thank you very much.
Question. I want to update the game to 1.05, should I go 1.01 > 1.02 … >1.05 or just install 1.05?
January 16, 2017 at 8:25 pm #4802791.05 works fine.
Also as for the songs that are freezing try downloading the xbox CON file and convert it using type 3 encryption; if that doesn’t work try all the encryption types; if that still doesn’t work I guess you’re out of luck. A very few songs just don’t work on PS3; though some does work with a different encryption type.
January 18, 2017 at 10:56 am #480340The Hall & Oates song worked when I did just that. I’ll definitely try that with the rest that don’t work.
I’m starting to download from the new database and I didn’t know there were so many songs on this site.
I hope my PS3 can take the beating…again.
January 18, 2017 at 5:35 pm #480346Cool stuff; don’t forget about the 3000 songs limit though ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
And if you play online PM me; custom works online.
February 14, 2017 at 4:48 am #481389Hey, I’m having trouble putting more customs on my PS3. I’ve updated everything and I think it’s maybe me overloading filezilla. File 756 has 1157 entries and I’m wondering if I just have too many files in it.
Is there a limit to FZ?
I haven’t hit the 3000 song limit. I have 2340 total and I’ve been using customs for well over 2 years with little to no problems. I don’t want to delete songs if I can’t reinstall them.
February 14, 2017 at 5:45 pm #481414I have not reached this number with customs yet. Please describe the problem in details.
Also; a fast way to know if FZ is the problem (which i doubt to be honest; but we never know) is using another FTP client.
February 16, 2017 at 4:24 am #481492The last custom I got working was the 3 Tetris theme medly from the gameboy. I didn’t like the cover so I changed it when I added a couple more songs, about 5 more. The old customs are still there and the ones that I labeled with numbers still save their scores, but the new ones don’t show up. The tetris cover is different, but none of the songs I’ve added after that one show up.
After about 700 songs the file that I put in and rename to songs.dta takes a little bit more time to transfer over and if I try to rename it right away, it’ll jump to whatever letter I type, just because. Also, if I forget I’ve named a song something, like Jungle Love, the game will read the first one but not the second. If the songs.dta file says a song is there, but I’ve deleted it, there will be a blank song and if I try to load it it will get stuck in a loading loop that only a reset can stop. I know it’s not those problems because it’s behaving differently.
February 16, 2017 at 4:41 am #481493Maybe there’s a limit of how many songs can be in a single pack (Don’t forget on PS3 we are using the RB2 free song pack 01).
One thing to try would be the PAL tutorial in the OP, using another pack you purchased and adding songs there. I always suspected there was a song limit in a single pack, this could be the confirmation.
February 16, 2017 at 4:46 am #481494Yeah, a different FTP program just gave me the same results. I’ll try deleting some songs tomorrow. Thanks and I’ll keep you all posted.
February 18, 2017 at 3:57 am #481588I’ve deleted almost 50 songs and the new ones haven’t loaded yet. I’m not sure how many more I need to delete if it is filezilla.
Also, the PAL method intrigued me, but the first two file links seem to be dead. Did they merge with other programs or are there new links I can try?
February 18, 2017 at 5:09 am #481591Well this guide is old and I don’t think the guy who posted the OP is still around. I haven’t read the PAL guide completely but I’m guessing it suggests to downgrade if not at 4.22 (I think?) because the tools to grab the k-license of the pack you want to use never were updated for newer firmwares. If the links are dead you can try here: http://www.brewology.com/or search on google; those tools should be easy enough to find.
Also this behavior is strange. Personally I would triple check the DTA file; or just build another one if you kept the original files for your customs.
February 19, 2017 at 5:15 pm #481635Got the customs working again. Turns out I added an extra character in the songs.dta file and it wasn’t reading anything after that song.
March 14, 2017 at 9:50 am #482672I’m not to sure of the configuration of customs in the BLUS30463/USDIR/HMX0756/songs folder. I have the old songs from before. I merged their information with the customs using CON Tools, as described initially. I tried placing the custom songs folders and their files in this location, but the game crashes. I’ve read through this thread and took out Enter Sandman as described.
I now took out the custom song folders I added and am attempting to place in a custom pack that I built with the CON tools. There are two packs with 160 songs each. Is it supposed to be just one file that I put in the /songs folder? I have the songs.dta, the old free track pack songs, and two large files called Customs1 and Customs2. Is that how it is supposed to be set up?
March 14, 2017 at 12:41 pm #482676No; the packs you are creating are for Xbox360. To create a PS3 pack use the song merger in the PS3 converter.
Basically in the “songs” folder there should be a dta file which is combined with all the DTA from all the songs you want to use, and every single folder will contain the rest for each songs. in the “songs_upgrades” folder; the same rules apply for the DTA; but instead of a folder for each songs it’s just the pro upgrade midi file.
If you want to see the PS3 structure you can download any song in the legacy database in the PS3 format and it will show you exactly how your “songs” folder should be built for one song; then test with that (Always initialize test for one song; just so you know; on PS3 we do not have the freedom to make unlimited packs like xbox… we are using the RB2 Free Pack 01 and as such we can only use that pack. Don’t worry though it seems you can have more than 2000 songs in a single pack; and it saves on loading time)
Also; if you’re ones of the people that has an online CFW I’d very much like to play customs online; we are 3 so far… maybe more people?
