So now the only song that isn’t working is Lady Gaga – Marry the night, and that problem is the same as we have with some other songs.. and it’s again 16 channel song

This is good news. I had a late night and consequently a late morning and I saw that 2 people already tested unsuccessfully so I didn’t bother. Turns out we are good after all! Thanks Nemo.

Well, I guess I’m the lucky one – I still can’t get “Jane” to work.

I started with FTPing the fixed mogg file into existing PS3 directory (converted with Type 3 encryption).

When that didn’t work, I deleted the PS3 directory and replaced it with a newly encrypted and fixed mogg along with a new songs.dta file – also didn’t work.

Finally, I deleted everything, redid it all AND changed the song name and I’m still getting the loop.

Not sure what is different for me, but I guess I’ll delete the song with the pack DTA editor and wait for hamburgerjung’s PS3 version in the song database…

BTW – Although I am the odd man out this time, I also want to chime in with praise for Nemo! I am still amazed how you are able to troubleshoot our problems when you don’t even have a PS3 for a test bed. Thanks Dude – our community would be out in the could without you! :excited:

Okey, what you need to do is to have the song allready prepared and ready to merge on PS3, not the .con file.

I’ve used the mogg files downloaded from the ps3 links from the song library, and then I’ve just replaced that mogg in correspondent folders on my ps3.

I can’t confirm about the specific song “Jane” as I didn’t test that one, I might try it later on today when I get home from work.

DJ Mike for your problem that song is not showing up in your library in Rockband….. it might be that you have 2 songs sharing the same ID number. That happened a lot of times to me.

To check that out, open your song.dta in notepad and go to the song which isn’t appearing on your list and look for it’s ID number. Then copy that number and go to “find” to look if you have another song with that same ID.

If you do, then you need to change it manually by putting an ID number that no other songs are using.

Hope that helps to solve your problem.

That problem was solved viperi, but thank you. I know how the dta works, I just had unchecked “merge new song with existing” by mistake while testing with Nemo.

When I get a chance I will test this new fix on the 4 I still have looping on. Maybe later today if I can.

Please do and report. When this next update goes out for C3 CON Tools I would like to put it aside for a while, so it would be good to get this sorted before then if I have to adjust it.

I’ve tested Jane and it’s indeed looping for me as well.

I’ve converted .con file of Jane using encryption type 1 into the ps3 format then I used fix mogg for looping error

then I merged song and copied to my ps3 and had the looping error.

Then I’ve converted .con using type 2 and then used fix mogg for looping error and copied only the mogg file to my existing directory on my ps3 with the same result… song was looping.

I ran the cons thru 371 and then ran the fix. All 4 previously mentioned songs still looping. Then I ran cons thru 371b and then the fix again. No changes.

      #444641

      Okay, here’s an interesting wrinkle…

I reached way back into the C3 song database and downloaded Neil Young – Rockin’ in the Free World. I converted the CON to PS3 using Type 2 encryption at 10 sec – and it is looping.

I guess I assumed this was only a problem with brand new songs. Does this make sense to everyone else?

The problem, in theory, is caused by the encryption prior to v3.7.0. When that new encryption came out, I re-encrypted all my Xbox songs on the server. So even though it’s an old song, it has the new encryption.

But that should be fixed with the tool I added.

        #444678

Alright, I downloaded the ps3 files from the database instead of the cons. Tried all 4 songs as is and no changes, still looping. Ran these files thru the fix option and the 2 from Tears for Fears now work fine.

Jane & Domino still looping. Going to mess with the 2 remaining songs again sometime after lunch. Also thinking of comparing the moggs in hex editor between the newly working songs and my most recent failed attempt of same.

@ TrojanNemo: Will this be of any use to you or should I try something else?

          Try this.

          PS3 CONVERTER
          - Added step during conversion process to correct some moggs that cause looping at the end of the song - click on Encryption Options -> Fix looping when converting and try converting the problem songs

          - Added tool to correct some moggs that cause looping at the end of the song - click on Encryption Options -> Fix PS3 mogg that causes looping and feed it a mogg that has already been converted to PS3 use but causes looping in game

But really, I’m out of ideas. So for the songs that the first mogg fix doesn’t work, enable this option and try converting those. Now you have two ways of fixing those moggs. After this, I got nothing else.

That shower scene was great, lol.

I tried the new fix on the 2 songs I have left and it worked like a charm! Thank you for allocating the time for one more stab at it.

Awesome!!!! Version 372 worked for me too! Both “Jane” and “Rockin’ in the Free World” play fine now.

Thanks Nemo – your effort on this one is REALLY appreciated!

            Good work, Nemo!

I can confirm your bug fix works like a charm!

(Tested on Mad World and Sowing the Seeds of Love by Tears For Fears)

EDIT: Fixed and uploaded the Tears For Fears Songs (PS3) on the Database.
