April 15, 2015 at 2:01 pm #442852That said, djmike534, were you successful in converting? If so, what setting on encryption did you use?
Using the latest C3tools I was able to get 4 out of 5 loading screen issues from Friday to work with just the default (type 3) settings. The last song that didn’t get fixed is one I could care less about so I didn’t take it any further.
So when the custom creators start using a new Magma version, we (as end-users) will have these kinds of issues unless we are on the “matching” C3tools. That’s what I meant when I said they seem to work better in series. It took a lot of stubbornness on my part until I started figuring that out. I don’t like to update anything if it works but in this case with 2 different programs working together it must be done.

Thanks, agreed, and this was the point I was trying to make. Depending on what Magma version was used to generate the CON, that may drive us to a specific CONTool version if there’s a bug.
That’s a particularly troubling thought for us that use PS3’s for all stages of customs and we need to help TrojanNemo in debugging.
I’m not trying to be the whiney user bitching that “song X doesn’t work, please fix”.
My prior posts in this thread attest to that point.
I do software development for a living, so I ‘get it’.
It seems there’s still some underlying issues with the latest Magma/CONTools and encryption if only 4/5 songs worked.
I’m trying to get all 5 working. Which one didn’t work for you djmike?
I’ll focus on that one and feed some info back for analysis.
April 15, 2015 at 2:24 pm #442856You don’t have to match the tools, just have the latest version of both. The latest C3 CON Tools will process CONs created with any version of Magma. Old version of the Tools can only process CONs created with older versions of Magma. So by always staying up to date, you save yourself the headache.
And so we’re all on the same page, PS3 conversions have a lot of issues.
The only one that we should be talking about at this point is one where there is no audio preview when you highlight a song, and when you try to start playing it, it gets stuck in an animated loop and never crashes, but never starts playing either. That is an audio encryption issue and should be fixed with the current version of C3 CON Tools (v3.6.. Any other kind of issue is something else entirely and you need to make it clear then.
April 15, 2015 at 2:44 pm #442859The song was Marry the Night by Lady Gaga. I had trouble with another one from the same artist in the past that I DID try everything but failed. Dunno if they are from the same custom creator or not. Maybe just a coincidence.
Again, I don’t care about this particular artist so don’t use your valuable time to troubleshoot for me in case you were going to. But thanks if you were. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
April 15, 2015 at 3:16 pm #442869Yes, I want Gaga to work.
I’ll mess with it tonight.
TrojanNemo, is there anything in particular, data-wise, that would help you with this for verifying what, if any, problem might exist?
April 15, 2015 at 3:18 pm #442871Confirm that the error you’re talking about is the error I described, and if so, provide that PS3 file.
April 15, 2015 at 4:15 pm #442884Will do
April 15, 2015 at 6:37 pm #442889Have the versions on the database been generated with that latest version by hamburgerjung?Sorry guys, haven’t been at home for some days…
Now I uploaded the songs again done by C3 tools 3.68.
I also tested songs but had to confirm everything works but not Lady Gaga’s Marry the Night.
April 15, 2015 at 6:39 pm #442890I also tested songs but had to confirm everything works but not Lady Gaga’s Marry the Night. You guys are killing me. Why doesn’t it work? What exactly is the error or problem with it?

Sorry man, I cannot tell you why it’s not working right now.
But indeed I can tell you what happens: When you just put the cursor on the song Marry the Night the game freezes – there is no possibility to do anything else but shut down the PS3 system.
April 15, 2015 at 6:48 pm #442894That doesn’t sound like an audio encryption issue. Just to be safe, can you try with the mogg from a song that does work and see if it still freezes?
April 15, 2015 at 6:50 pm #442895That doesn’t sound like an audio encryption issue. Just to be safe, can you try with the mogg from a song that does work and see if it still freezes?Yes, of course, just wait a moment I’ll do…
Could it be there’s an issue with the amount of the instrument tracks?
April 15, 2015 at 7:05 pm #442896What I did:
– Converted the song Marry the Night with current C3 tools 3.68, encryption option 3
– Deleted original mogg file marrythenight.mogg and replaced it by the one from working song Let me entertain you and renamed it to marrythenight.mogg
Result:
The game doesn’t crash when I put the cursor on the song Marry the Night. It plays the preview song of Robbies Let me entertain you.
After I started the song the systems freezes just before it tries to start the song. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
April 15, 2015 at 7:12 pm #442897That’s good (for me). Means the audio encryption is not the problem, it’s another one of those PS3-specific annoying issues.
I can’t solve it for ya. I looked at the file with C3 CON Tools and cPlayer and I don’t see anything obviously wrong with it.
Blame Sony. Always blame Sony.

I’ll do, I’ll do… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
For me it’s not a huge problem, cause I don’t like Lady Gaga so much but it’s just a pity for the PS3 community.
I could imagine it has something to do with multiple instrument tracks…
