Is 1750 the max songs for ps3? I had previously had 1749 and added 10 more with only 1 more adding successfully. Hadn’t had time to try again. Just wondering.
March 1, 2015 at 8:56 am #439542I’ve contacted Arcanon the creator of scratch21 songs and we are looking what might bothering ps3 users with those specific songs. We also found out that ps3 supports 16 channels as well as xbox users, but there is something else inside mogg that ps3 don’t like in 16 channel song configuration.
As you can see down here is song.dta from another song that Arcanon made “Bleed it out” and it got 16 channels with same structure as songs “Stranger” and The Rhyme”, but “Bleed it out” is working fine on ps3.

Just wondering.I don’t know about a cap on the amount of songs we can add to a ps3 but I am at 2043 and climbing. Usually when what you describe happens it is due to one song in the custom dta not being within ps3 parameters. Remove the 10 new songs from it and add them a few at a time until you find the culprit.
March 6, 2015 at 5:24 am #439952It seems the only way to get a list of your PS3 songs into C3 Con Tools Setlist Manager is to jailbreak. If this is incorrect and I missed something please direct me to the instructions. If jailbreaking is the only way to accomplish this can somebody link me to a PS3 songcache with every song available on the PS3 in it please? As I’m not going to jb my system just to get a nicely organized, informative, easily printable list of my songs for that system.

PS3 doesn’t have a “songcache” like xbox does, so there’s no such thing to point you to. your best bet is taking something like http://pksage.com/rockbandsongs.php and copy/pasting it into a spreadsheet and munging on it until you get what you want.
March 6, 2015 at 3:05 pm #439984I told him to come here to get the list of songs from uhhh… you. Yeah, pretty much I expected you to have something up your sleeve.

Yeah, pretty much I expected you to have something up your sleeve.i’ve got my own list, but it’s far from everything… i suppose i could provide a copy of that, but it just means there will be many missing since i didn’t buy them, and many others that won’t match what he’s got. i could probably whip up a script that converted the master list into a format your tool liked, but that seems like a lot of work ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
March 6, 2015 at 3:41 pm #440000Yeah I’m not even entirely sure why he wants it, since as you said he’s either not a PS3 customs user and then what’s the point?, or he is a PS3 customs user and he’s already modded. But I figured if anyone had such a file, it would be you.
March 7, 2015 at 6:47 am #440101At no point was I “complaining” about the tools available. I Have a PS3 that I want to print a karaoke styled song book for. I’m not going to jailbreak my PS3 for that. If it came across as complaining I apologize. I am a Xbox 360 customs user and have already printed off a book like this for that system. I want what I thought might be a as easy way to do this for the PS3 that as a non jailbreaker seemingly I can’t have. Make sense?
TrojanNemo this is exactly why I thought this thread wouldn’t be a good place to post my request lol
March 18, 2015 at 11:32 am #440898How come I always get the “Unable to load song, skipping” error? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

March 18, 2015 at 10:24 pm #440925OK this is my first post here and I’m doing it after spending 12 hours trying to get customs working on my PS3. I’ll try to make it count so I’m sorry if it’s a little long.
Hopefully this might help someone in a situation like mine and save hours of his life.
(As a sidenote I would like to mention that I’m no expert but I have a few basic programming skills and already knew my way around PS3 jailbreaking a little bit. I also had made custom GH DVDs for my PS2 back in the day so it’s not like I just randomly tried things and got lucky… I advise others to at least do their own research before even thinking of trying stuff and mess around with your PS3 because if you FUBAR your PS3 you only have yourself to blame in the end…)
After hearing just very recently about how PS3 customs were possible (I didn’t touch my JB PS3 in years and used my slim to play online and I mostly play PC games anyways so I was out of touch), I got around to make them work on my model.
You’re going to say wow, big deal. Thousands of people got that to work.
The only difference is I had to do it without having the Free Pack *already* installed or going online with the PS3 you wanna play customs with to get it (Method 1) OR installing a rap file (Method 2).
I didn’t do it because I like to think of convoluted ways to do shit,
I did it because
A) I’m still on OFW 3.41, I couldn’t find any way to install raps (method 2) on it and
I don’t wanna either go online with the PS3 (method 1) or update the 3.41 OFW. No need to waste time & ask me why I didn’t update to CFW or another method of jailbreaking. That’s just how things are.
Basically, Method 1 wouldn’t work because I couldn’t go online to download the free pack since I didn’t want to update the firmware to a custom firmware (needed for spoofing the FW version which enables you to get into PSN Store).
I also had swapped the 60GB HD and didn’t bother transfering old saves & DLC files, so I don’t have my old RB1 save on the jailbroken PS3 (containing licenses etc).
I had created a new user and never went online with that PS3 since jailbreaking it and switching the HD (I got another PS3 to go online) so it is technically unactivated even if it used to be with the old HD.
Method 2 wouldn’t work since homebrew apps like ReactPSN or PSNpatch would not see raps on the USB drive and I was SOoL trying to install them… The reason was probably also that they needed a newer custom firmware to run correctly.
What ended up working is using a PC proxy to snatch the Free Pack 1 using my other un-jailbroken PS3 that I use to go online all the time.
You need that pack to “unlock” the ability to play customs, other free songs would not “unlock” customs when I tried them instead thinking I could save some time.
(google PSXDownloadHelper, don’t worry there is a way to make it english too lol. Another old ps3 proxy would not work for me.)
If you didn’t get what I just said, you got a lot of understanding to do before attempting this so I suggest going the other 2 ways. Setting up a correct proxy is not that hard but it does take longer than installing a rap if you have that option.
Basically the proxy application running on your computer returns the link of whatever you are downloading on your PS3 in the PSN Store so that you can then download the free pack as a pkg on your PC. You then put the pkg on your USB drive and install that on the jailbroken PS3. That gives you the songs.dta C3 needs & correct permissions your PS3 needs to avoid getting a “Unable to load song, skipping” error.
TL;DR? :
If you don’t ever want to go online with your jailbroken PS3, are stuck on a lower firmware preventing you to install raps and don’t already have the Free Pack 1 installed, you can use PSXDownloadHelper to download it if you have another PS3 you don’t mind going online with connected to a PC.
Lastly,
Thanks for all of the work you guys did to get this even possible.
Thanks to all the FoF guys, the Wii guys, the XBox guys…
I have almost 200 DLC songs for RB that I paid for.
I just succesfully added around 90 gems thanks to all of your efforts.
I couldn’t be happier that RB4 was announced and I really wish that HMX would hire a bunch of you guys because your work deserves it.
Again, thank you.

My initial Setup was Option 1. Is there any other reason for this? Or is it song specific?

In case someone else wanted to try this and is having the same problem. It is actually song specific. Some of the custom songs that I downloaded works.
April 13, 2015 at 12:48 pm #442659For my personal edification, how was Madonna – Borderline converted?
I tried doing it before the PS3 version was on the database, with weird results.
Type2 and Type3 did the same thing. The song would go through the ‘gig setup’ scene, then stick on the paisley ‘loading’ screen.
