      It worked! Thanks. Can you tell me what you did, so I can figure out how to fix it myself? Even if you just did a regular CON to PS3 (method 1 or 2), as this would let me know its a problem with my C3ConTool/pc.

      On a very small part of those con files there is a problem converting the songs to PS3 versions.

      I cannot tell you exactly why but it seems to have something to do with the encryption progress of the edat file.

      In this minor cases I use to do the encryption manually. There is a small manual I wrote but its in german language.

      And yes, I used the regular con file (“This Love”) from our database to do that.

      Since method 2 use a program that uses Java, and I’m unsure if it does the midi encryption properly on my pc.

      Edit: As for “Let there be rock”, converting using Method 1 gives me a song that will load forever (after picking difficulty)

      Loaded and processed songs.dta file for song #1 successfully
      Song #1 is AC/DC - Let There Be Rock
      Extracted MIDI file letthereberock.mid successfully
      Encrypting MIDI file to EDAT
      Failed to encrypt MIDI file letthereberock.mid ... try again
      Extracted and modified songs.dta file successfully
      Extracted album art file letthereberock_keep.png_xbox successfully
      Converted album art from png_xbox to png_ps3 successfully
      Extracted mogg file letthereberock.mogg successfully
      Extracted milo file letthereberock.milo_ps3 successfully
      Successfully processed 1 of 1 files
      Done!
      Process took 0 minutes and 16 seconds
      Click 'Reset' to start again or just close me down

      and *.mid in the song folder instead of a *.mid.edat

      I’m leaning more and more toward my JAVA being borked thus making Method 2 not working for me

      Hard to say what’s the problem on your computer. Probably it’s a timing issue.

      Maybe Nemo could tell more about that, cause he made the con tools as you know.

      #431548

      Ok, I was right, problem with method 2 (or manually using True Ancestor like in your tutorial, as I had tried that before) fails on my computer, even if it says “Successfully encrypted …” it never actually encrypt the file to an edat.

      Tried it on my girlfriend’s computer and it worked properly and fixed another song I had problem with. I’ll have to figure out what’s wrong with it, assuming its a JAVA problem, as a few days ago it just said “Can’t start Virtual Machine” and after updating java, it just didn’t work properly as noted above.

      All in all this is not a problem with C3ConTools, but a problem on my side. Thanks for all the help!

        I cross my fingers for you can solve the Java issue on your computer.

        If you have any other songs found in the c3 database that doesn’t work please give me a hint.

        So I could fix the songs and link them to the database – thanks!

        Could anyone repost or post a working link to the “KLicensee Dumper – Encryption key (KLic) dumper.” file, its under the PAL tutorial of the original post, trying to get custom to work under another pack, and can’t seem to find that file anywhere online

        #431693

        Hmmmmm, I must have skipped over the PAL instructions back when I originally read through this thread. If this dumper file spits out the KLicensee number for other PS3 song folders, I would be VERY interested in finding this too…

        #431703

        Found the file, sent you a private message Dahnlee, it also appears that either the PAL tutorial is wrong, or the file tree is different for NTSC console, the libsysutil_np.sprx is under /dev_blind/sys/external and not /dev_blind/vsh/module/

        Also to note, /dev_blind is where you need to go after enabling write access, as its a link to /dev_flash with said write access, /dev_flash is still read-only.

        Edit: And the process was succesfull, got some custom installed under the Bee Gee Pack 01 folder!

        Probably gonna back up a few KLic from a few pack in case of future needs as downgrading to 4.21 is a pain.

        Also saw (thanks to the song I actually picked to play during the process of getting the KLIC, which was Stayin Alive) an interesting line about pro upgrade, which I might investigate further down the line to see if I can get some of the Harmony Project upgrade to work for me.

          Good to see you had success solving your problem with the klicensee dumper.

          I would highly appreciate to get those Harmony Project songs running on PS3 systems.

          This and pro upgrades would be the last things that are missing on PS3 compared to the other systems 360 and Wii.

          Let me know if I can help you pushing this issue forward! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

          RB:HP’s Pro-Guitar/Bass upgrade works

          Extract all the Pro-Guitar/Pro-Bass file “*_plus.mid” to a folder on your computer, run them one by one through C3ConTools->PS3 Converter->Encryption Options->Encrypt Replacement Midi File.

          This should give you PS3 encoded “*_plus.mid.edat” for each song you want upgraded.

          Add all the upgrades.dta of all the songs you want into 1 upgrades.dta, I just did it manually using some text editor.

          ex:

          (buddyholly
          (upgrade_version 1)
          (midi_file "songs_upgrades/buddyholly_plus.mid")
          (song_id 1005026)
          (rank
          (real_guitar 1)
          (real_bass 1)
          )
          (real_guitar_tuning (0 0 0 0 0 0))
          (real_bass_tuning (0 0 0 0))
          )

          (everfalleninlove
          (upgrade_version 1)
          (midi_file "songs_upgrades/everfalleninlove_plus.mid")
          (song_id 1005024)
          (rank
          (real_guitar 199)
          (real_bass 1)
          )
          (real_guitar_tuning (0 0 0 0 0 0))
          (real_bass_tuning (0 0 0 0))
          )

          (rockawaybeach
          (upgrade_version 1)
          (midi_file "songs_upgrades/rockawaybeach_plus.mid")
          (song_id 1005022)
          (rank
          (real_guitar 1)
          (real_bass 1)
          )
          (real_guitar_tuning (0 0 0 0 0 0))
          (real_bass_tuning (0 0 0 0))
          )

          (roxanne
          (upgrade_version 1)
          (midi_file "songs_upgrades/roxanne_plus.mid")
          (song_id 1005011)
          (rank
          (real_guitar 1)
          (real_bass 450)
          )
          (real_guitar_tuning (0 0 0 0 0 0))
          (real_bass_tuning (0 0 0 0))
          )

          FTP into your ps3, go to the regular HMX0756 folder, and create a folder named “songs_upgrades”, go into that folder and upload all the converted “*_plus.mid.edat” files and the one upgrades.dta file you made.

          Should look something like that

          Launch the game and enjoy.

          This was the only 4 songs I tested so far, they all seemed to work properly. Will try to get some other RB:HP type of upgrade tonight.

          Edit: Got some Voice Harmony upgrades to work, but the process I used is not as simple. For the most part, the process above is exactly the same, with a little addition, you have to go to the songs/pack folder on your ps3, and change the songs.dta entry to match the one provided with the upgrade in the RB:HP package.

          Ex: To enable Metallica – Blackened Harmony, follow the process above for the updates.dta and encrypting the midi file, uploading them to the same folder as above.

          Just doing that won’t work, you have to browse on your PS3 and go to the “/dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30050/USRDIR/ccf0001/songs” (this is the metallica pack folder, would be different for a single song, or any other songs for that matters), and download the songs.dta file to your computer, and replace the info regarding the song “Blackened” with the one provided in the RB:HP package.

          Obviously this isn’t a perfect solution, and I will try to find an easier work around, but just showing some progress, and if anybody is dying to get some harmony on some of their song, well the possibility is there.

          #431761

          EXCELLENT – Blackened, you ROCK!!!

          Thanks for digging up this dumper file. I was hoping to use this to fix non-pro drums RBN files, but it looks like it will enable harmonies as well – very cool!

          #431762

          I’m guessing using the last part of my previous post would make any of the RB:HP upgrades works, I didn’t test many songs, but I don’t see how it could not work if we are modifying the original dlc/export dta.

          Failed so far getting harmony to works without changing the original *.dta

          The closest I got was just add all the dta info from an harmony upgrade into the songs.dta we usually use for custom, but changing the path info to include full path to original dlc.

          Ex:

          changing the line (name songs/blackened/blackened) into (name /dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30050/USRDIR/ccf0001/songs/blackened/blackened)

          and (midi_file songs/blackened/blackened.mid) into (midi_file /dev_hdd0/game/BLUS30050/USRDIR/ccf0001/songs/blackened/blackened.mid)

          That made the song show has having harmonies enabled, and even the song preview played in game, so the game understands using full path, but upon starting the song, got a “Can’t Load, skipping” error, meaning the *.mid.edat encryption isn’t what the game expect, or something else.

          I’m done for the near future, unless something comes up in my mind, I don’t see how to get them to work without modifying the original *.dta

            To provide some info that may be useful:

            On the Xbox 360 end, the songs.dta file included in the RBHP release is basically the original songs.dta file with some additional information added. This additional information is:

            – Whatever was on the .dtb file on the RB3 disc containing missing information (e.g. stuff that was not present in the original that RB3 requires).

            – Tonic info, if available.

            – A “(vocal_parts x)” line, if there are harmonies.

            – A “(keys (x x))” line in the tracks section, if there are keys, to tell the game to use backing audio for keys.

            – A “(real_keys x)” line and a “(keys x)” line in the difficulties, if there are keys, to give keys tiering.

            – Other possible tweaks (metadata fixes or vols value changes, occasionally, for backing tracks for songs where we added keys).

            The appropriate information needs to be fed to the game for the appropriate part/change to take place. On the Xbox 360, we have a song cache, so we do this through the whole “dummy” process, where we feed the game LIES and then feed it TRUTH and it ignores the TRUTH to continue to savor the LIES and then we get keys. The PS3 does not have a cache so we can’t really lie to it like that, so you will end up needing to modify your original songs.dta files. If all the information is otherwise identical between the two versions you would just need to update the pointer to the .mids in the RBHP .dtas and could just swap those in wholesale.

            However, from there, assuming PS3 pro guitar/bass upgrades are structured the same way, we /also/ need to feed it the upgrades.dta information, which points to the upgrade .mid file. So, even for non-PG/PB upgrades, you still would need to do the “merge all upgrades.dta files together and encrypt/provide the .mid files” thing and put them in the right spot.

            It’s worth noting that the RBHP packager generates a fully merged upgrades.dta file as part of the process — I think it’s set to dump it in the root folder — so you could use that to quickly generate that file. If the paths on the PS3 are static, it seems like we should be able to create an RBHP conversion tool that we could feed a .csv containing “shortname,path” and have it batch update individual files (or a giant combined upgrades.dta file) to point to PS3 paths. Hell, if the content (other than the .mid path) is identical, you could do that for the songs.dta files, too, and then if we could automate a way to copy it over to the PS3, you could have a nice fire/forget installer. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

            Not sure I’m understanding this right, but upgrades (upgrades.dta and *_plus.mid.edat) dont need to be in a special folder. Just like custom, they can all be in the same “songs_upgrades”, with a giant upgrades.dta and with proper songid, the upgrade will be available in game, well, pro g/b will be, the rest wont be until original songs.dta are modified. But once the songs.dta are modified saying “Hey this track has Harmonies”, all the upgrades can be in the same folder anyway.

            I’m not sure about chart fixes, sinces these are not upgrades but modification to original mid, if the game allows “upgrades” to original, standard charts. I will test this at some point in the near future. If not, then I would have to decrypt the original *.mid.edat, modify it with RB:HP fixes, and encrypt it back, which is a lot of work, as you need license info and rap file for each songs.

            Thanks for the info, but a problem with this (If I understand what you are saying) is that path are different for packs and single. Metallica Blackened bought as a single is in a different folder as Metallica Blackened when bought as a package.

            The process above would work on game export package, as these dont have 2 possible location.

              I’m saying when you use the tool I built you get a merged songs.dta and upgrades.dta file in the folder in which you have installed it. Might be a time saver vs. manually merging, especially if you can then automate replacement.

              They work just like a pro guitar/pro bass upgrade would, for the 360 end, so I would first test them with that functionality.

              Could put two entries and have the app prompt. Or put them in and tell people to edit the file to reflect whichever they have. You’d just need to build the ‘source’ file once and then update it with whatever songs are new, and people would just have to stay on top of it in their own setup (since you only need to upgrade each song once instead of doing them all every single time).
