Good job Dahnlee and TrojanNemo. I didn’t have time to try it out, but will do when I catch some free time ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
September 18, 2014 at 9:59 am #429380After I tested the new Version (3.5) of Nemo’s tools I can confirm it works perfectly! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
I converted the songs.dat to numeric value on song_id first and afterwards I created the new 5 songs from the C3 database. To create new songs and merge them to the songs.dat you have to toggle the button for numeric values, cause if you forget about that you’ll get the old useless stuff.
Then I deleted some songs and it went fine as well.
So it looks like we have a final version to convert CON files to PS3 format.
There is just one issue left about the hormonies project for PS3… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
September 19, 2014 at 2:34 pm #429479I’ve also tested new c3 con tools and everything is working great. Now we have our progress saved!!
Thanks guys, I’ve always knew something can be done on that issue when I posted my 1st post about that problem long time ago, just couldn’t find what’s wrong with it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />))
I had few problems with some songs, but that was on my end as I had those songs duplicated in my song.dta file and each got it’s own ID so progress wasn’t saved as there was conflict, when I deleted those duplicated everything was fine.
September 19, 2014 at 4:43 pm #429494If you guys think that having merge songs and change ids to numeric values checked by default is a good idea I can do that next update and save you an extra step or two.
September 20, 2014 at 1:47 pm #429579Nemo,
Yes, I think it makes sense to have the ID go to numeric value by default.
And as long as you are talking about a future update, I also had a question about the ID counter. As I understand it, the program holds that number in memory. Would it be possible to view that number and/or edit it? As an example, I’ve had Norton delete C3CONTools.exe a couple of times now. If I lose the count when that happens, it would be nice to have the ability to reset it manually.
And thank you for this most recent release

Done. Will be in next update.

It’s already possible. File is in binconfigps3.config. Open with any text editor.
As an example, I’ve had Norton delete C3CONTools.exe a couple of times now. If I lose the count when that happens, it would be nice to have the ability to reset it manually. It’s unfortunate that since the program has gotten so complex, Norton’s stupid heuristic analysis keeps saying it’s a “virus” based on lack of people reporting in to them that it’s not. I also lose my EXE with every update. When Norton pops up with the stupid message saying it deleted it, click on Restore and Exclude and you’re fine until the next update. In any case, that only removes the EXE, all other files remain, so if it happens, just download again, extract the EXE and copy into your old folder.
It sucks that this happens. I have tried to figure out how to stop it, and it seems like I’d have to submit the entire source code to Norton for every release to get their approval?
September 21, 2014 at 11:49 am #429652It’s already possible. File is in binconfigps3.config. Open with any text editor.FANTASTIC!! This completely resolves my concern about Norton and I think it will also allow me to keep the numbers I’ve already give to the first 200 songs.
Thanks for pointing out the “Restore and Exclude” steps too. I had just been keeping a copy of the EXE in a separate TEMP folder and would copy it back into the C3 Tools folder whenever it went missing.

October 5, 2014 at 5:04 am #430463I’ve converted and uploaded all songs on the database that were missing PS3 versions up to and including this week’s releases. Apparently TDCMark had already converted and uploaded all the GHtoRB3 tracks (~200 from April of 2013) but never linked them on the database. I took care of that too. As far as I can see, every single one of the 1045 songs as of today in the database have PS3 versions.
Hopefully they work, I can’t test them
October 5, 2014 at 12:55 pm #430472Thanks Nemo! As I’ve said before, your willingness to provide support for users on a platform you don’t use yourself is extremely generous and MUCH appreciated!
Out of curiosity, do the C3 Admins compile metrics related to user profiles? For instance, have you guys made any estimates about the actual number of PS3 users based on the PS3 file downloads? My impression is that it seems like a pretty small community…
October 5, 2014 at 2:35 pm #430477Well, I can tell you there’s nobody “compiling metrics related to user profiles” because there’s nobody with that kind of time. Also, since no revenue is being generated, what’s the point?
We do have a very detailed download stats system created by farottone, but it relies on people downloading from the C3 Database. The most downloaded PS3 file is Adele – Rolling in the Deep and it only has 56 downloads. Followed by Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball at 48. Is there something you PS3 people aren’t telling us?
Of course, that doesn’t take into account anyone who downloaded the Xbox version and converted it themselves. So I don’t know how much it tells us really.

To be honest, I always take the CON version, because I have in mind it’s the only version that will be updated.
And it’s easy to convert the songs to PS3 by yourself. Probably that’s why there are so little downloads…
Maybe there would be more downloads on PS3 versions when there is an added value on PS3 download like added harmonies and/or pro guitar/bass.
October 7, 2014 at 2:28 pm #430582Is it possible to run customs via an ODE such as Cobra or other similar ones? I vaguely recall some form of customs-method involving one but I’m not sure if I’m recalling how to do it with an RB3 backup on CFW.

At least you have to be sure to get access to the root folder of your PS3, because you have to add the custom songs with a ftp program like FileZilla to your PS3.
If Cobra gives you this kind of access it should work. But I cannot confirm whether it works or not, cause I have a Rogero CFW on my PS3.
October 7, 2014 at 5:39 pm #430591Yes it works with a Cobra ODE, using an older version of Multiman and renaming it “manager.iso” (replacing the Cobra Manager) or SonicMan (works like a game in the PS3_GAME folder). I wouldn’t recommend getting a Cobra ODE though, since it’s super sensitive and can be blocked with new firmwares at any moment. Mine doesn’t work anymore so I’m thinking of getting a Xbox instead.
