Good news guys! Mogg file hurts so good from wii is working when i placed it into yellow submarine song folder! But when i placed them into original folder they didnt work. I hope we are getting closer to solution.
May 24, 2014 at 12:00 pm #420956We got some good news for all PS3 users!!! After doing some testing along with TrojanNemo, we came up with the fix for the songs with freezing in the menu problem, and the ones that had corrupted sounds during playtime. So all song problems are now fixed. TrojanNemo will release more detailed explanations how and what you need to do. The problem was in the mogg files where PS3 just didn’t like something specific inside of them. Taking mogg files from wii version and then encrypting them, along with some song.edat editing solved all of the problematic songs. Wii version of mogg files have some song channels reduction, so it could be that inside one of the channels there’s something that is bothering PS3. I’ve tested all of the songs, and now they are playing fine to me.

May 26, 2014 at 6:57 am #421084That sounds fantastic!
I couldn’t agree more: Great job guys!
By the way, will TrojanNemo put the fix in the next CON-Tools or do we have to fix the concerning songs manually?
May 26, 2014 at 3:12 pm #421091Well, we didn’t find so much a solution as a workaround fix. You have to get your hands a little dirty.
HOW TO: FIXING LIBRARY FREEZING AND AUDIO CORRUPTION ERRORS
Background Info
The problem seems to be PS3 not liking songs with too many channels (i.e. multitracks), so the solution is to reduce the amount of channels in the mogg. Unfortunately we can’t just open the mogg in Audacity and delete some channels and save that, as you need the proper header that is created by Magma. So, you can either recompile the song yourself, or a much easier solution: use the Wii mogg, which also can’t have too many channels. When he creates the Wii versions, StackOverflow recompiles the songs in Magma and reduces the total amount of channels in the mogg.
Process
DO THIS BEFORE MERGING THE SONG WITH YOUR OTHER WORKING SONGS. IF YOU ALREADY MERGED, REMOVE THE SONG AND THE DTA ENTRY BEFORE DOING THIS.
Start by downloading the Wii version from our database. Grab the mogg file found in the /song folder. You’ll notice it’s smaller in file size than the PS3 version. Put that mogg in your PS3 song’s folder, overwriting the PS3 mogg. The Wii and Xbox can play encrypted and unencrypted mogg files, but the PS3 seems to require that they be encrypted. So get the Wii mogg file, and drag and drop it to the PS3 converter and it’ll encrypt it for you if necessary.
Now the mogg file is ready for the game, but you’re not done!
Next we need to edit the PS3 song’s DTA to match the channels of the Wii mogg, so we’re going to copy the following from the Wii DTA to the PS3 DTA. To be absolutely clear, you do NOT copy the text below, that’s a sample. You need to find the equivalent in the Wii DTA, select it, copy it over the existing information in the PS3 DTA. In essence, you’re changing how the game interprets the mogg, so it knows how many channels it has now and what instrument each channel belongs to.

Be very careful when doing this step that you don’t mess with the amount of brackets. You need to make sure you select the equivalent close bracket to the open one. Best way to do this is to use NotePad++, as it’ll highlight the close bracket to whatever open bracket you’ve selected.
Last step is to delete the EDAT file from the PS3 folder, grab the MIDI file from the Wii folder, and copy it to where the EDAT file was. Then drag and drop that to the PS3 Converter, and click yes to encrypt the MIDI to EDAT. This encryption takes into account your chosen Encryption Type, so if one fails, you can change Encryption Type then try again. This step is necessary because when changing the mogg file, we also need to change the required drum mix event in the MIDI. If when you drag and drop the MIDI to the converter you don’t get an option to encrypt, redownload the BETA, you’re on an older version.
That’s it. Now you have a working mogg and the DTA has been modified to work with the new mogg. Now you can merge the song with your existing working songs and, so far in our testing, it should work.
Ideally, TDCMark or whoever takes over doing the conversions will be doing this work so the end user doesn’t have to, but for the time being it’s up to you if you want to play those songs. It would also be nice if you help each other, so if one of you creates a fixed version of a problem song, post a link here! Save everyone else the headache.
Here’s the latest BETA that has the mogg encrypting added, i’ll keep this link here until I release a final version.

May 26, 2014 at 5:17 pm #421102Just fixing up all the broken audio songs today, should have them ready to go in a few hours.
May 26, 2014 at 6:00 pm #421109Just fixing up all the broken audio songs today, should have them ready to go in a few hours.May I help you doin’ it?
If so, just tell me which songs I should convert…
May 26, 2014 at 6:44 pm #421115I just finished converting and re-uploading, so if you could test any (or all!) the following:
Songs with "corrupted sounds during playtime" problem:
Linkin Park - Burning in the Skies
Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Hot Patootie - Bless My Soul
Songs with "freezing in song library" problem:
Black Sabbath - After Forever *
Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know (ft. Kimbra)
John Mellencamp - Hurts So Good
Maroon 5 - Harder to Breathe
OK Go - Get Over It
Van Halen - Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love
That’s the most current list I found on this thread, so if I missed any let me know. I still have to convert the “unable to load, skipping” songs.
May 26, 2014 at 7:02 pm #421120Yes, I will test them, but that’ll take some minutes.
I will come back to you after it’s done…
May 26, 2014 at 8:12 pm #421123I just finished converting and re-uploading, so if you could test any (or all!) the following:

Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved

Van Halen - Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love
So I finished testing all songs mentioned above and they all work fine (tested with bass and vocals)!
The only thing that didn’t sound perfectly is the audio on Maroon5 “She will be loved”. There is a clicking in parts of the song that ruin it in my opinion.
But that’s all I could find – so good stuff all in all!
May 26, 2014 at 8:28 pm #421125Blame Adam Levine. That annoying clicking sound is part of the song.
May 26, 2014 at 8:34 pm #421127Thanks gonna try a few of these myself.

May 26, 2014 at 8:56 pm #421131I tried removing it but it was too mixed with the rest of the backing so i left it as is. I also bought the jammit audio to compare and yep…it’s there.
May 27, 2014 at 2:22 am #421153Updated the How-To post with the missing instructions for the drum mix event. As TDCMark realized (and I totally overlooked), if you’re changing the amount of drum channels in the mogg file, you also need to change the drum mix events in the MIDI file, so you need to also grab the Wii MIDI and use the latest (just uploaded, redownload!) PS3 Converter. See instructions post a few posts back.
I also updated the help file for the PS3 Converter to refer to all this new information and to permanently link to that How-To post.
I haven’t had much time to test this last addition, so you let me know if it works fine (it should).
So, do we have solutions to all the problems now? Are we officially on full support now?
