I tried recreating the error on my end and it didn’t happen. I put 4 Hurts so Good and one After Forever in one file, and I can edit that just fine.

Here’s an idea for you guys to try.

For Hurts So Good, edit the first line of the songs.dta from

    ‘cij_HurtsSoGoodv4’

    to

    ‘cij_hurtssogood’

    and the line

    (‘song_id’ cij_HurtsSoGoodv4)

    to

    (‘song_id’ cij_hurtssogood)

and see if that makes a difference. I wonder if the PS3 also needs short names and song IDs to match the file path in case.

Upload the file somewhere so I may look at it. Since I don’t actually use these it’s difficult to get a real working file with multiple songs going.

Sir, your willingness to help and troubleshoot on this thread are nothing short of heroic.

For what it’s worth, I salute you.

I’ve tried to edit song.dta and ID to ‘cij_hurtssogood’ but unfortunately it’s freezing in the song library as well. Then again I remembered that I was putting mogg files that are not working in the folder of the song that was working and it had same effect and froze in song library.

I still need to see the file, I don’t have one on my end.

I am willing to bet the error is caused by the multiple entries of the same song. It’s definitely not created with that kind of situation in mind, though if I coded it right it should handle it fine. But I don’t know

Upload your file and link it here or PM me a link to it.

I’ve sent you my song.dta file so take a look what’s going on with it, and if it’s giving you same error. I can edit same song.dta file in previous verion without any problems, but in new beta I can’t.

Found the problem with the editing of the songs.dta file for PS3. Was added with a new feature to Quick Pack Editor. Will be fixed in next update.

So I’m back again and can support testing some songs if needed.

Fixing problems sound good so far, but does that fix matter our freeze problem or is it just another solved problem?

    Correct.

Please double check that the latest list of problem songs is the only thing left to be addressed (i.e. only the audio problems).

excellent. now see if you can make any of them work and we can start figuring out a solution, if possible.

There, updated BETA with the editing of songs.dta fixed (or in theory anyways). Let me know. There’s a lot of changes “under the hood”, hopefully nothing broke. I was half asleep <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />

So I’ve been talking to viperi via PM back and forth and I set out to test a few things, and sadly I got no good news.

Viperi is convinced that the problem is with the mogg files, since replacing the mogg files makes a broken song “work” in game, albeit with the wrong audio obviously. However, I can’t find a difference between the PS3 and Xbox versions of the audio, and there is no reason for them not to work on PS3 since they work on the Xbox.

I compared the Xbox and PS3 versions of each of the following songs (2 from each “broken” category):

Linkin Park – Burning in the Skies

The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul

Gotye – Somebody That I Used to Know

OK Go – Get Over It

Keep in mind you can’t replicate this at home, due to the encryption of the mogg files, but I can from here. And every pair of songs came back with the same result when doing a Differential Analysis in HxD = “the chosen files are identical”. So there’s no change to the mogg files in the PS3 conversion process, which is what I’ve been saying.

So, what else could it possibly be? What am I missing to look at? I fear at this point someone new to this whole thing will need to chime in, as I’m thinking I’m too deep to notice what may be obvious.

Although you couldn’t achieve a satisfying result I want to thank you very much for your work – both TrojanNemo and Viperi!

Hopefully there will be a solution on that issue but the good news is there are only a few songs that are broken and we could solve the “skipping song” problem. So it’s not that bad, I guess.

Yeah what trojannemo said, I’ve been doing various of tests with the broken songs and I’m convinced the problem lye’s somwhere inside the mogg files. Must be something in those that is bothering PS3
