The biggest differences I’ve noticed between the ones that work and the ones that don’t are:
1) The ‘ character is added to many fields
2) extra line breaks
3) master 1 instead of master TRUE
4) song_id in header
5) Visualizer comments at end of dta
There may be more differences, but those were the most noticeable to me. Removing the ‘ characters isn’t the only fix. The “manage pack dta” function in C3 will not properly list songs with the corrupt dta, even when you remove the apostrophe characters. The extra line breaks need to be removed as well. So that’s at least the start of getting them to work on PS3.
I don’t know who did the majority of the Tool songs, but they all work, except Eulogy. Same with Metallica, except Die Die Die My Darling. So someone out there is using a different method to create songs. And that method works on PS3.

April 28, 2014 at 2:40 pm #419026After further experimentation, it appears to be a very strange coincidental error.
I cleared my master songs.dta and pasted Tool – Eulogy to the very top (no changes necessary) and everything works correctly. So there was some other element in my master songs.dta that was corrupting the rest of the list. Where it just so happened to fall in the list made it appear that it was the change in formatting that was causing the corruption. Which was reinforced by viewing the songs.dta in C3 and noticing that it doesn’t list songs in the RBN format the same way it lists standard style dta songs.
Sorry for confusing anyone, or derailing anything.
Now I just need to figure out what caused my original songs.dta to break in the way it did.
I guess that explains why no one else was having any issues.

April 28, 2014 at 3:18 pm #419031Yeah, the parentheses were something I checked, but maybe I still overlooked it. Notepad++ might be handy to me in the future though, thanks for the recommendation.
So strange that I just so happened to load 25-30 songs with the stock formatting at the front of the file, and exactly right when I added a RBN formatted song it decided to flake out on me. What are the odds I would have chosen that certain combination of songs?
I guess that old saying about assumptions is true.
Thanks again for the help everyone, and all the custom songs, of course.
April 28, 2014 at 7:03 pm #419045PAL PS3 Working!! READ ON.
A noob to jailbreaking a PS3 and desperate to play the customs.
Was going well until tried to follow PAL instructions and trying to get a PAL code. Klicensee Dumper 4.21 links all give malicious content (found old version 3.41 though).
Being gutted decided to try anyway (after about 6 hours of searching).
Loaded Free Song Pack (PAL version)
Used Con Converter on songs and followed usual instructions for 360.
Uploaded and THEY WORKED!!! Just played Pink Floyd!
Many thanks to all who make this possible. You are heroes!
If you want to test PAL: PS3 let me know.

April 28, 2014 at 11:03 pm #419064Then i’m back to being out of ideas and sitting back while you guys try to figure it out.So when you have a solution, get back to me. Do not suggest any more “try this, try that” – you try it, let me know if it works ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Not that TrojanNemo is around… but I got around to downloading C3CONToolsv33 and started playing with its options for PS3. I didn’t have anymore success then you others… however I had grouped all my errored songs and I noticed that the “Hootie and the Blowfish – Hold my Hand” (which has a successful separate “edat” file) didn’t work from a con file through the “Type 2” midi to edat encryption. I thought this option “Type 2” was derived from the success of the fixed “Hold my Hand” edat?
May 3, 2014 at 1:45 am #419346Well, I have a PAL PS3 as well, but I thought getting a NTSC version of the game and using a US PSN account was way easier ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
So I got a Cobra ODE yesterday, installed it, and I got the custom songs working using Multiman (for the FTP transfer) (PS3 FAT 4.55 OFW).

Very nice, that means this method will work on every PS3 even the superslim. You only need to buy and install the Cobra ODE. No Jailbreak needed.
May 8, 2014 at 8:02 pm #419782Has anybody tested Led Zeppelins “Stairway to Heaven”?
Now it has the “skipping song” error and I could swear it worked some weeks ago…
May 9, 2014 at 6:31 am #419823I get the skipping song error too, and and most of the zep Ted so far
May 9, 2014 at 7:13 am #419824I get the skipping song error too, and and most of the zep Ted so farThanks for your reply!
Can anybody confirm that error on that song?
Maybe there was another version I got, cause I have in mind once it worked…
It’s like the case I had with Gotyes “Somebody that I used to know”. TrojanNemo’s version works fine but the official release of C3 doesn’t.
May 9, 2014 at 10:08 am #419826I think I have Stairway to heaven working fine, but I’ll have to check it out when I come home from work.
May 9, 2014 at 10:41 am #419827I think I have Stairway to heaven working fine, but I’ll have to check it out when I come home from work.If so, could you send it to me so I can also test and play it?
I think you should know my email address… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
My con source file is dated 3rd April 2014. Maybe you can send me both your original and the converted song.
Thanks in advance! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
