Somebody That I Used to Know (ft. Kimbra) – PS3 Hangs in the song preview list
I can confirm the same problem mentioned above.
What’s funny is that the previous version of “Somebody that I used to know” TrojanNemo made and offered in his older customs thread works fine. I don’t have in mind whether it was a multitrack or not.
April 12, 2014 at 4:03 pm #417708Sucks for you guys. I updated the list of problem songs to include the new ones mentioned, but I got no solution to offer.
April 12, 2014 at 4:05 pm #417709The Rocky Horror Picture Show – Hot Patootie – Bless My Show – Song have same problem as some others I mentioned (gets stuck in middle of song with corrupted sounds and ps3 hangs).Maroon 5 – Harder to breathe – PS3 Hangs in the song preview list
Somebody That I Used to Know (ft. Kimbra) – PS3 Hangs in the song preview list
Mötley Crüe -Too Young to Fall in Love – Unable to load song skipping
I’ve also discovered that PS3 is actually saving all of your song progress, but for some reason it shows only around 15 random song progress each time you enter rock band. They are all saved somewhere maybe in “save.dat” file from the game, but when you enter game it shows your progress you made before, but always in around 15 songs.
Thanks for posting. Its nice to know what locks up and causes issues.

April 12, 2014 at 7:21 pm #417713no problem I hope I pointed out where the problem is. Anyways, It’s just a small percentage of total songs that’s not working on ps3, but I want to thank everyone for making this possible. I know it took you guys lots of time and effort for us ps3 users to enjoy playin some great songs. Playing customs on my favorite game, like from metallica and other great bands that where never be able to purchase on DLC is really awesome. Now with customs, I have over 1200 songs in my library as I purchased a lot of DLC when they where on the market. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />))
I also want to say that i’m willing to offer any testing on my ps3 if you need it.
April 12, 2014 at 8:05 pm #417714Hello there C3 team!!!
I would like to ask what Am I suppose to do with this issue:
First of all this is my first time to use custom songs for ROCK BAND PS3 (so thank you C3 team for this dream come true)..
Every time I try to do the “Merging Already Converted Songs” Part, specifically the step where I needed to merge the songs, the PS3 converter is always stated that “failed to merge the songs” and/or ” (song name) can’t find a part for path” something like that message. And there’s only a “gen” folder coming into the “merged songs” folder..
I already did what you have stated in this part (including the copying of the “songs.dat”), please can you tell me an even clear instruction? I’m so frustrated men ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />(( Please reply ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />((
April 12, 2014 at 9:08 pm #417715If you are downloading ps3 ready files you need to put each of songs in separate folder. Like make folder with name “1” and put files you downloaded into “songs to merge” folder, and so on with each song you like. For each song you need to have separate folder and put all files you downloaded in it.
You can also download xbox .con files and put them into “cons” folder, then check merge songs, and go to tools, merge songs. and then you copy it on your ps3 along with songs.dta. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

April 14, 2014 at 4:22 am #417819Since a lot of the songs you guys are reporting are songs TDCMark hasn’t done yet and you’re converting on your end, here’s a few things to look at for the songs that crash when even loading the preview on the setlist:
1) is the first byte of the mogg 0x0B? it needs to be. use HxD or another hex editor to look at it
2) are all the five files necessary present? you need dta, mid.edat, .mogg, .milo_ps3 and .png_ps3
3) are there any instances either in the songs.dta line that goes songs/songname/songname or on the actual folder name where you have capital letters? commas, apostrophes, etc?
Those would be the typical things that could cause crashing at the setlist preview level.
When TDCMark comes back from wherever he is, don’t worry, we will deduct two weeks from his paycheck for abandoning us

Thanks for tips what to look after, I’ll check it out when I get home from work.
Hehe, maybe TDCMark went to vacation, and left us here to digg in the dark. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
April 14, 2014 at 2:30 pm #417839Checked song hurts so good – all 5 files are present
in hex editor .mogg file first byte is 0b
songs .dta line looks fine – songs/cij_hurtssogood/cij_hurtssogood and song files have name cij_hurtssogood in front
Song Get over it got all 5 files as well
in hex editor .mogg file first byte is also 0b
songs.dta line looks fine songs/getoverit/getoverit and all folders and song files have name getoverit in front
April 14, 2014 at 2:55 pm #417840You don’t have to post for every song that is formatted correctly. Only if you find the song with the issue that tells us what the problem is.
Here’s the thing. Not to toot my own horn, but I was pretty sure I did everything correctly when creating the converter. And back then TDCMark was able to test it to heck and it worked as intended. So I really don’t think it’s something in the conversion process itself beyond it being a bug we didn’t know about then and still have no clue about now.
I was hoping you’d find something easy by analyzing the files but I had done that before and nothing jumped out at me either. So it’s probably going to take some more in-depth PS3 knowledge to figure out what’s causing the problems. And I have barely ever touched a PS3, much less own one.

Could it be usefull to know the previous version of your “Somebody that I used to know” works fine while the one you released last friday freezes? Or is it a totally different created song compared to each other?
April 14, 2014 at 3:06 pm #417843They’re completely different songs. One was mp3 based, the other multitrack, one compiled using original Magma like 2 years ago, this one with Magma: C3 now. And I created the first, this one was all MFX/pksage, my name is only attached because I was the original creator.
April 14, 2014 at 3:10 pm #417844Ah, ok so that’s nothing we can deal with.
