    a) Not by expert difficulty.

    c) Not by expert difficulty.

This is news to me, honestly. I had figured the expert charts were the basis of all difficulty tiers.

Tiering start to make a little bit more sense when you look at medium charts w/ a hint of expert input. There are a few cases where the expert charts tiering is boggling but medium works out.

Medium got other variants of difficulty than “kinda easy” chartwise?

Personally I always found tiering after Expert to be the best choice in that it’s “the real thing”.

      Yes.

No arguments there. The conversation is about how songs are rated, not how they should probably be rated. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

Now there’s a grand point that actually puts some sense for some official songs.

I agree. I personally do this to songs I’ve charted.

Vocals are a different ballgame because performer ability varies drastically. I, too, have struggled with some 2-3 dots because of where they sit in my range while banging out sightread FCs of top-tier songs I’d never heard before.

Ye’h. Personally, I say Vocals difficulty should be base around how many times you have to change the pitch. Like in that one Queen, which I know the name of but can’t spell, has a point where the pitch is just extremely high then extremely low… The more you gotta change the pitch, how quickly you have to do it, and the change itself is what I believe should effect the song’s Vocals difficulty…

Personally, going by that… The song “Llama” should be warmup or at the most one tier just because the Vocals like… Never changed. It’s just A LOT of words.

Changing pitch a lot is it, right? A lot of the “easy” vocals song seem to require some amazing range. It feels like picking off random, far-apart notes in Pro Keys which is just easy to miss and not fun. Sing, by MCR from the Blitz set is rated as high-difficulty for vocals, but it’s one of the easiest songs I can play. It’s just easy to follow unlike Charlene!
