What about some additonal meta info for songs?
What I mean with this is for example when I want to search an Anime song and I know the anime for example, or I know a movie but dont know the name, I should be able to find the intro of an anime or the soundtrack of a movie by searching for this, instead of the original song name.
I hope you can add something like this

Well damn, I was planning soon on moving over my uploads to a server. I had some cheap HTML home page with all the links for easy reference. Now you guys come in with this amazing piece of work. Even if you guys aren’t around as much your community awareness really comes through here. It’s all amazing updates to the current system, which is already great. I still do work with FoF so having a unified database for it all is a plus too.
Couple questions. Maybe these were answered and I glanced over them. You mention costs? What ways will we have to support that? And second, is there any addressing on different authors doing the same song, or is that still disallowed like in the database?

There’s no cost to the C3 users, this is all graciously paid for by Farottone and TrojanNemo. As I’m sure Farottone will say, your use of C3 Universe will be support enough.

Other users who have released a song already in the customs database will usually post it in their customs release thread and not upload to the database.
Maybe its too much to ask for, but it would be great if the concept of author ids can be dropped in favor of just giving credentials like username and password, and C3 Universe does the rest, to give a unique song id automaticly and more..?

It’s not disallowed in the database and it’s not disallowed here. The space on the File Server is the one thing we might get pick about (but that would be only for say somebody who only does duplicates of other songs and does a ton of them and they are of subpar quality, a scenario I can’t imagine would happen), for the rest authors are already and will be free to author what they want, even if we don’t like duplicate versions.

As this is author-centric, is there are facility for WIP songs (metadata rather than actually files) so authors can announce WIP, colaborate or so other authors can see if something is being worked on already?
Not at the moment, no, But most importantly, the forums are the best place to discuss collaborations, there are no chances that we develop a chat-like function for the new platform when we have this place. We’ll see about placeholders, but for the foreseeable future the only way to get metadata is to upload the CON.

I certainly don’t have the final word on this, but I’m going with the latter.
This is truly amazing. Seeing that everyone here still loves rock band 3 and we’re doing even more with C3 sounds so amazing. I have many songs I haven’t uploaded yet, and it would be great to do so as soon as C3U releases!
