Nice to see my name in a release again. However, I found my upgrade in the 2008 folder, not 2010.
The Shinedown songs really needed them. Now everything Shinedown released in RB has harmonies.
March 27, 2014 at 5:21 pm #416394Hey espher I just figured I would let you know that the link in the RBHP_Installation_Guide.doc for TU5 no longer works. I had to re-format my USB drive I use for RB:HP and am not near my XBox 360 so I am trying to download TU5 and that link is dead. I know I know, why am I still using TU5 but I don’t want to get into it…
That being said, anyone have a link to TU5 that works?
March 28, 2014 at 12:59 pm #416465Cheers.
There was a site that hosted all sorts of updates, and I thought that was the one I linked to — I’m wondering if it’s down altogether or if I just need a better link.
March 30, 2014 at 9:23 am #416615I don’t know how many people actually sub to your upgrades every month, but I would super upgrade to some Pixies upgrades. One of my top band introduced to me via Rock Band. Honestly, I’d get no real practical use on my own, but I’d be crazy appreciative of the upgrades either way cause I love the Pixies and I make Nemo suffer through playing though them on a Rock Band gaming night. You know I’ve been pining for them for a very long time!
March 30, 2014 at 11:48 am #416617Yeah, I imagine I’ll start tackling the albums sooner rather than later, lest I end up with non-stop albums to finish things up. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
April 4, 2014 at 10:12 am #416954Thank you so much for Rise Against 3-pack!!
And lots of others also, there is a lot of stuff for me this week.
April 4, 2014 at 4:00 pm #416974In the RAR of this week’s releases only, a folder for Weezer’s Pork and Beans is in the Keys -> Rock Band DLC 2009 folder when according to your documentation it did not get a keys release. Also, Buddy Holly by Weezer is in Keys -> Rock Band DLC 2007 when it didn’t get a keys upgrade this release. No big deal, just a heads up so others don’t get confused. Thanks for all you guys do!
April 4, 2014 at 5:24 pm #416984For Pork and Bean, it is because this song has got an hamonies update, which not contain the key upgrade, so the new folder in the key folder is the updated files with Key AND hamonies.
For Espher : Good job. Just a little mistake : you don’t rename the songs.dta file to delete the “keys” word. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

Thanks for all you guys do!As kobras notes in his reply, “Pork and Beans” previously had a keys release but got harmonies with this release, so the previous keys-only upgrade now has keys and harmonies (I usually try to release them together but Stack had that one done well before I had a free slot and I didn’t want to just sit on it for two or three months), and Buddy Holly similarly had a Keys + Harmonies release and the Keys release now includes Columbo’s “Pro Guitar” upgrade (I’m still trying to think of a good way to decide what gets bundled into what).

I’m sure a couple of those got missed — let me know which ones and I’ll update the archives. I have all of the ‘finished’ products in my work folders, so the keys mids/.dtas all have .keys.mid or .keys.dta, and same for Pro Guitar/Pro Bass.
April 4, 2014 at 8:26 pm #417014Ahh makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
Just out of curiosity/as a suggestion, are there any plans on adding another column onto all of the disc-based games tabs that says whether the keys update has been done for each respective song or not (similar to the harmonies and Pro G/B columns)? I know you have the dedicated tab in the spreasheet for Keys but now that these upgrades are becoming more prevalent/often and there are plans to add them to all RB1 and RB2 songs wouldn’t it be helpful to see the progress and whether keys are applicable to the songs on all disc based releases? I guess I would be just curious to know how many songs from RB1 and RB2 even have keys/are applicable for a keys upgrade.
April 4, 2014 at 8:45 pm #417017If it starts to pick up steam, I would consider it — I kind of regret putting PG in there, honestly, at least in the specific disc/year tabs. It eats up a LOT of horizontal real estate.
As an aside, fixes up for coolforcats (error in Keys’ songs.dta) and panicattack (songs.keys.dta renamed to songs.dta) in all appropriate packages.
April 4, 2014 at 10:04 pm #417021It turned out to be a great, heavy-hitting week. I’m glad I was able to contribute as much as I did and hopefully I can continue helping the project. I have a lot to play through this weekend.
April 5, 2014 at 1:39 pm #417067Having some issues putting in songs for harmonies. First problem is that, I just put in key/prokey upgrades to some songs I own. When I booted up RB3, it added 500 demos of songs I didn’t own. To top it off, it didn’t add keys to the songs I wanted. So how exactly do you add songs to the RBHP installer program, and what files do I inject into Party Buffalo? (I followed the guide thoroughly from the link in the OP, and it still didn’t work.)
Second issue is that songs that were pre RB3 (such as Adam’s Songs) that I wanted to add harmonies to will not play for some reason. Can anyone help?

Just going off the top of my head about possible solutions:
Did you delete your cache before you added the new harmonies files? Did you add the harmony files without the rest of your songs first? Did keys show up at that point?
The issue with the demos and songs not playing could be because you didn’t delete the dummy file.
Hope this helps.

a) If it put 500 demos of songs you don’t own, that tells me you added more than just files for songs you own, but they should disappear when you delete the dummy file as the last step of the process.
You put the songs in an input folder, as described in the guide, and then run the packager, using only the updates you want. You then put the files created in the output folder (a dummy package, and a larger upgrade package) on your USB stick, also as described in the guide. Then you go through the steps detailed in the guide to get the cache to build (delete song cache, build with hard drive disconnected, build with hard drive connected, delete dummy). If you’ve followed the guide thoroughly, barring some weird config I haven’t encountered, this should work — please list the steps you are taking and I can see if anything seems out of sorts.
c) I would need more detail than just ‘will not play’, because there are many different types of ‘will not play’. There’s “freezes my console on cache build” (does not seem to be the case), “shows white album art/has no preview + ‘unable to load song, skipping'”, “crashes on song load animation screen”, “does not return from black screen after that animation”, and “crashes in the middle of the song”, all of which can have different triggers. If you’ve got the specific behaviour, I might be able to identify a cause.
