I noticed that the Recent Release Batch for the last update included “Buddy Holly” in the Optional Keys upgrades. Was there a change to this file not mentioned in the update notes? Or if it was a mistake, is it at least the most current version of the song? Those of you lurking the spreadsheet and the C3 blog may have noticed that, yes, just like clockwork, we’ve got a new release up and about. This week brings us the lone February release… or should I say Foobruary!

 

The Foo Fighters and Friends* round out this week’s RBHP selections, which feature twenty DLC upgrades to tracks by the Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand (with one keys upgrade), Flobots, Free, Foreigner, and Family Force 5. Not to be outdone, they are joined by three oft-requested Flight of the Conchords upgrades from RBN. We’ve also got some pro drum notation fixes for four of the tracks off Rush’s “Moving Pictures” (just to break the theme, of course).

Also notable: this week marks the release of the 500th harmony upgrade chart (between RBN and disc/DLC songs). That’s a not insignificant milestone, and I’d like to thank everyone who contributed charts, downloaded the project, told their friends, and/or watched YouTube videos along the way.

You can’t, Phase Shift doesn’t have playable Vocals and Harmonies aren’t recognized by the game at all yet. Don’t know about any good and free MIDI based Karaoke games, sorry

Oh, well I guess it would just be to sync a MP3 up to the chart, export it as a OGG named “guitar” and put the audio, MIDI and a configuration text file with the songs metadata correctly set up in it (you can find guides to that on the Phase Shift sites or simply copy and edit one from another Phase Shift custom) into a folder inside your songs directory in the Phase Shift install.

Probably have to do that, and/or merge the keys .mid parts with the regular .mid parts if you’ve already got the song in a Phase Shift-friendly format. I have zero familarity with Phase Shift tbqh.

Has anyone tried merging a keys upgrade with the original MIDI to see if it maintains animations in-game? I tried using the Pro Bundler with C3 CON Tools but it didn’t seem to want to play friendly with MIDIs that don’t have pro guitar/bass.
