It’s been a while since we had a nice, straightforward week of cussin’ and rockin’! Admit it, you’ve been spoiled by our big releases lately. This is a chance for you to play it like we used to — to settle down with five great songs and try to GS all of them! And, of course, if you’re a GnR fan, you need no such excuse. Download all of these songs from the legendary rock group’s famous album, and make sure to check out all of the GnR in our back catalog. After this week, Use Your Illusion I is at 10/16 songs, and we have 20 Guns N’ Roses tracks in total! Wow.
Authors’ comments for this week’s songs:

  • “Double Talkin’ Jive” – farottone writes, “This is a very peculiar GnR song that at some point fades into a Spanish guitar solo with rhythm guitar in the back. Listening to the song it’s easier to understand why this was a challenge in terms of what to do with all instruments than to explain it, so I’d suggest you check out the song on your favourite music provider. For this reason I chose to go with a special approach: guitar plays guitar up to the acoustic part and then transitions into the acoustic rhythm guitar. Bass plays bass up to the acoustic part and then transitions into lead acoustic guitar. The reason why guitar goes to rhythm and bass to lead, again, is easier to understand listening to how the two parts of the songs merge but the main point is that the song transitions right in the middle of the electric guitar solo, which goes on while the acoustic guitar starts its solo.”

See you next Friday!
