I’m working on converting the Devin Townsend and strapping young lad songs charted by Thebocaj on FoF. A few of these have bpm markers that are way over 300. Any body wanna help so i can get these tracks released?
Sometimes you can change those markers to 300 and the song will still stay in sync. How far are they off?
So far ive seen ones between 6000 and 10000+. Plus ones under 40 lol.
Yeah, thats way too high. I’ve been able to delete markers like that at the beginning of the song and then just shift the chart to match the audio. It can be a big pain in the ass. Try sending one of them to me and I’ll see how difficult it is.
Isn’t there a way to save the midi file without the tempo map? You could do that and remap it.
Another solution would be to entirely remap, copy midi notes and stetch them by selecting all of them and holding (CTRL or ALT, not sure) and drag the edge.
To make the remapping easier you can simply divide the tempo that is in the currently map to something closer to the usual range.

A MIDI file always has a tempo map by definition. If you don’t alter it or if you export without it it’ll be set to the default 120bpm 4/4.
I think when exporting in REAPER there is a checkbox for embedding the tempo map…but it’s been a while since I last worked with REAPER.
