Hey everyone, I just found out about this place, and let me say that I’m super impressed by all the songs as well as the outrageous quality of them. Now, as the title suggests, I’m a little bit stuck in the past. I don’t have a console (PC master race) and Phase Shift doesn’t quite work right on my computer.
So, I still play Frets on Fire. Or rather, FOFiX v2.131. I’m not quite that archaic.
I downloaded one of the customs for Phase Shift and tried it in FoF, and it works, but the keys nor the vocals played. Playing Dream Theater without the vocals and especially the keyboards was a pretty odd experience for me. Other that that, it played fabulously.
So, my question is how can I get all the tracks to play while in game? I assume that this is because FoF doesn’t support keys or vocals, so I need to go into Audacity to combine song.ogg with the keys.ogg and vocals.ogg. However, I’m looking for a more elegant an easier solution, given the amount of new songs I’d like to download and play.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: I did try to search around on here, the Phase Shift forums, and the FoF forums, but found nothing. So if I’m an idiot and the solution’s posted elsewhere, please link that to me and feel free to call me an idiot as well.

Yes, which is why we don’t support FoF. You can stick to non multitracks customs though, in which case only one track is playing anyway.
Or combine the audio tracks as necessary. There is no “easy” way. The current conversion to Phase Shift is only easy for you because of all the work that went into the Converter. You can either take what the Converter does and take it a step down for FoFiX, or the better solution, figure out why Phase Shift isn’t working well with your system. It’s a very good game and the solution should be to get it working, not continue using FoFiX.
I’ll try to reinstall Phase Shift and work with it some more, maybe it will work better than it did a year or so ago.
The multitracks do work in FoF, though, whenever I hit the killswitch (FoF’s whammy) it muted the guitar track while the bass/drums/song tracks still played, it was just odd because of no vocals and no keys.
Thanks guys.
