Sometimes I think I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t like Radiohead (except for paranoid android)

Not meaning to be ungrateful about C3’s work, of course, but just saying.

I was like you once. I thought OK Computer was boring. I kept listening to it, trying to like it, but it just didn’t hold my interest. I thought Kid A was kind of good, but still wasn’t really into the whole Radiohead thing. It took Hail To The Thief to make me rethink the band. Airbag is really not an accessible song; 2+2=5 makes a much better introduction. Then I went back to OK Computer, and Subterranean Homesick Alien was like, “that’s pretty cool,” then Exit Music was like whaaaattt, and then Let Down was like WHHHAAAAATTTT and I’ve been a fan ever since.

So yeah, Radiohead is awesome, and Bearz is awesome for putting in so much hard work to bring it to Rock Band. It’s too bad C3’s weekly releases have to end, but this really was the perfect closer. Now for the “end of days” festivities!

For week 2, I’m switching Rudy out for Yours Is No Disgrace, since it’s way closer to ready (just have to finish keys reductions and vox, then it’ll be all set for playtesting.) Sorry for changing it up this late—I’m just happier with the quality of the other song, and I don’t want this release to be overly rushed.

After slowing the video down 50%, I think that section’s supposed to be charted in sixes instead of eights. That was just a quick look, though.

    Full keys/pro keys chart: http://www.mediafire.com/download/zj6df … 283%29.RPP

    34.3: I don’t hear these two chords, just a solitary G A G A

I still hear the chord at 34.4, and 34.3 is ambiguous enough that it’s probably better to keep it there too

    53.3: Missing C3 here, I think?

    Fixed.

59.3.5: I hear a fourth note in there before the last one, but not sure which pitch

Thank you! There’s a B before the A. Sounds better now.

77.2: I think the first Eb here is an E

    Fixed.

87.2.5: You could probably sustain this C3 safely

Thank you, I wasn’t sure at that BPM

    89.4: I think I hear a D2 right at 89.4.00

I’m not sure whether that’s there or not, but having it in helps the timing, so I’ll add it.

Thanks for that, sadly RB3 doesn’t allow tempos below 40bpm so had to up the 39.5 to 40 at the end there. Doesn’t seem to have noticeably affected the timing of any of the notes but you might want to double-check the last measure just in case.

    Yep, still fine at 40BPM.

As you know, the Pro Keys reductions and regular Keys are not done at all. Don’t forget!

Done! Though easy/medium pro keys reductions were done in a bit of a hurry, hopefully it’s still fine.

Okay, so in the version I gave you before, the lane shifts weren’t charted after a certain point, which pretty much breaks it. So here’s the RPP with the full expert pro keys chart—all lane shifts included—so we have a version that plays well in-game. I edited the tempo map a little to make keys work better at the end (so please double-check vox to make sure it’s still good). It’s a close call with the difficulty, but I think you’re right—there’s a few hard-looking sections that should bump it up to devil-tier. Normal keys and reductions still coming.

I’ll do Rudy by Supertramp for week 2.

I’ll probably complete some of the other things I started but never finished for week 3 as well, like Neighbourhood #1 and Dirty Harry.

in reply to: Harmonix taking song requests for RB4 #440681

    I requested, in this order:

    • Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine
    • Dramamine
    • A whole bunch of Porcupine Tree
    • Another hundred songs from my iTunes library

open hi hats are not charted at least according to the preview. all cymbals were Y from what I saw. also are the pro drums not added yet?

There is no pro drum preview on Mac. Only on Windows. But pro is charted.

I originally considered charting open and closed hi hats separately, but when you listen to the stems, there’s so, so many ambiguous cases that it’d make the chart look a lot worse, and probably play a lot worse as well. I personally think it looks very clean and consistent as-is, and later in the song when the open hi-hats are made very obvious they are charted as their own notes.

But when it goes into playtesting, feel free to take a closer look and help me change my mind.

in reply to: Yes Megapack #440668
Let me have a go at the drums. Nothing major but cymbals need to be adjusted.

Could you please be more specific? Drums were charted using Jammit sheet music, so they should be mostly accurate. But if there’s something I did wrong, please let me know!

in reply to: Yes Megapack #440664

1 song down, 2 3/4 albums to go. Just have to finish up reductions, then I’ll put it in playtesting for the Anniversary pack.

Should we tease anything about the Yes pack when this song is released? Like, in the description in the blog post? Or is that not good practice? (Or is it too far away for that?)

in reply to: Megasurvey: how do YOU feel about Rock Band 4? #440534

    Combination of 3 and 4. Mostly 4.

The problem is, I really had my hopes up for RB4, since I wanted a game that would let me go through RB2’s awesome tour mode with pro instruments. That would have sold it for me. I have so many great memories of playing the old tour mode, but for $400 I just can’t give up pro keys.

Can you divert one song to the Anniversary pack please? A multitrack one, obviously. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Yes! Yours Is No Disgrace is in great condition already and should be done far before the others. I’ll try to get it in playtesting as soon as possible.

in reply to: Yes Megapack #438469

Mazegeek and I bought the rest of the available multitracks. That means 3 full, complete, multitrack Yes albums! I’m pushing the release back to 3rd quarter 2015 to accommodate the extra songs.

in reply to: ****The Unofficial Progressive Rock for C3 thread**** #437565

Since we got Metropolis, change my vote to Porcupine Tree – In Absentia.
