  • Something I noticed while pausing the new trailer for RB4: there’s a leaderboards button on the song select screen!! So, leaderboards are still there, even if online play isn’t going to be in the game at launch.

Don’t think I could sustain 3+ years of it if we weren’t having fun. The people I play with care more about the music than gimmicks. I would kick someone out if they came over and tried to play over an Iron Maiden solo with that useless new solo feature while I was singing. I’ve already had to ban guitar effects switch and miss sounds. Oh, and I don’t let people pick whatever songs they want all the time. Needless to say, people love me.

Ooh, almost forgot the Lenny Kravitz ban.

    Lenny Kravitz ban…..

I’m thinking that my next challenge (which I’m only doing once I graduate and I have a week or two of time to spare) is what I like to dub “The ENDLESS Endless Setlist” – which is playing every single song I own for Rock Band (deciding to restrict it only to official content, just to go easy on myself, which brings the total to about 700 songs) in one giant, monstrous playlist. I’m still a little bit unsure of what instrument I should go for it on, but I might do Drums just to torture myself a bit. (not that I’m bad or anything, but we’re talking maybe 3 or 4 full days of *just playing drums*)

I also might stream it, if anybody is interested in watching it.

Just lettin y’all know that I’m still working on this! I’m definitely going to stream it, but I’m still working out the logistics of streaming it and also just playing 703 songs all at once at all. I’m thinking about splitting it up into playlists for each day, to keep things relatively organized. I’ll also make sure to bug friends of mine to play with me for a while on certain days, too, to keep things interesting.

PKSAGE HAS GONE MAD WITH POWER

Also I’m not just going to pretend like I didn’t notice the background change there for a moment. I mean, :brosius:

Considering that so many other games these days ship unfinished and have features patched in or released as DLC later on, this actually is completely unsurprising.

Who wants to bet money that they’ll patch keys back in later when they actually have money?

in reply to: How do you feel about venues? #447745

I get really overly concerned with the aesthetics of Rock Band, so of course, venues are a massively important thing to me when it comes to songs in the game. I get REALLY PASSIONATE about

    that have

    .

I’ve also charted massively stupid shit just for the purpose of giving it an awesome venue. Like I said, I’m REALLY PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS.

    I LOVE VENUES

Assuming a song with at least somewhat standard rock instrumentation and not experimental in length (see: Bull of Heaven), Echo On The Hills Of Knebworth by Tera Melos is easily the hardest I can think of. I’d like to see someone try to legitimately top this:

    Fucking math rock.

    (I) Fucking (love) math rock. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

    John Cage – 4′ 33″

The song is a VERY* well done cover of the original. Sadly, the original 1953 version is not easy to find in good quality. However, William Marx does an almost indisputable job with this. It’s way above my authoring ability <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Still crossing my fingers for the Rock Band Avant Garde Contemporary Classical Track Pack. I can’t wait to play my favorite Stravinsky tunes on my plastic guitar!! I wonder what kind of vocal charts

    would have…

Maybe an even more interesting idea is Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />

See the little smiley face I left after my comment? It was meant in fun. I’m sorry if you took it the wrong way.

I was just jokin’ too!!! It’s all good, sorry if it seemed like I was actually angry. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />

You can stop cutting major features of the game any time now, Harmonix.

Harmonix obviously has WAY less money right now then what they had making RB2 and RB3. I’ll be surprised if it ships without online play, but subsequently, I won’t be surprised at all if they patch it in later.

I used to do lots of stupid stuff, kinda like that, like strumming only using the palm the entire song, lifting up fingers from each fret every time after I’d play a note, and there was the time where I passed Whiplash on expert guitar, on Guitar Hero Metallica with the TV and sound off.

That’s ridiculous!!! I’m in awe of you, honestly.

Harmonies are back and some “fan” gave them harmonies for all of the old songs too!

What kind of nutbar would do that?

ALSO THE GAME LOOKS SO COOL AND EVERYTHING SOUNDS AWESOME AND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Read the change log for the Xbox update and try formatting a new USB with it. Changed the file system it uses so now it’s just a standard FAT32 partition that you can copy to and from using Windows.

Whoa, nice!! That makes customs that much more dead-ass simple now <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />
