This album got a spanking 10/10 from Anthony Fantano a couple of years ago, but I only just caught up to it. Even though this is the most accessible song on the album, it’s still noisy as all hell and has some wild guitar and drum charts. Special thanks to Gal for charting drums and OD for this song.

Most of it is forgettable if you ask me, but there is one giant highlight. This is a simple song reliant on samples and patterns, but the ambience is great and it is more varied than you’d think at first.
January 15, 2019 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Lowlander2’s non-C3 customs: Bury The Hatchet – Protest The Hero #502976This has been in the works on and off for about a year and a half, but it’s finally at the point I feel comfortable releasing it. Frost* are a neo-prog supergroup from the UK who came out with their debut, Milliontown, in 2006, and while it was their 2016 effort Falling Satellites I fell in love with the most, I can easily call Black Light Machine the best song from their debut. The second guitar solo is up there for being one of the best of the 21st century, but bass, keys and drums all have really fun parts too. Even vocals has a bit of back and forth that echoes the interplay between lead singer Jem Godfrey and guitarist John Mitchell. Never have I said this with it being more true: I hope you all enjoy it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Dave Hole isn’t that well known even inside Perth, but he does have a loyal following, remaining an incredible live act the world over for decades, even earning praise from Kirk Hammett once for his slide guitar skill. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live twice and will probably do so again this year. This is one of his signature songs, the title track from his debut. Gotta love that monster solo.

I understand I promised to come back in full force, but nngh if for various reasons I don’t usually have the fire in me anymore to chart. I’m eking my way back in but I still wouldn’t expect a surplus. Hence if you were holding back on something I placed in my throwaway WIP thread, you don’t have to (except for Frost*, that much is definitely coming). ANYWAY
Much like a lot of other folk, I love me some Cuphead, and especially the music in the game. While a lot of it is traditionally cool, there is one song that stands heads above the rest in terms of impact, and it’s the intro, which blasts you with barbershop quartet as soon as you hit the splash screen. This custom is of both that and the piano rendition that plays afterwards. Preview video will be in the usual spot as soon as it’s up.
About to set up my own WIP thread, pop into every recent one to make sure I’m not stepping on toes, and I see you plan to do Dopesmoker? I’ll be surprised if that doesn’t break the game, but at least vox will be an easy chart. C on every note except for like two.
February 13, 2017 at 4:36 pm in reply to: Lowlander2’s non-C3 customs: Bury The Hatchet – Protest The Hero #481350Damn I just finished making Love Bites last night!
Damn, sorry dude! Does this mean we had the same idea, though? Do you have a sort of “anti-Valentine’s” pack lined up?
Love it!!!! More Hysteria tracks are needed ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
At this point, between the two live cuts as DLC and the two tracks I put out, I’m sated for Hysteria, except for Rocket. But gee if I could figure out what’s going on in the four minute breakdown. If I do, I’ll take a crack at it, but I’m more liable to move on to my other favourite album, Pretty Hate Machine.
Is this our one song a year from Lowlander? Well it’s a good one ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Thanks buddy
Haha, my charting output has slowed considerably, but I do have more songs lined up. Someone needs to chart Frost*, after all.
February 12, 2017 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Lowlander2’s non-C3 customs: Bury The Hatchet – Protest The Hero #481315This year is the first in a while where the HMX Valentine’s offerings are lackluster. Usually, they have at least one monster ballad everyone loves and wants in the game. Well, allow me to step up to the plate.
Those of you who have followed C3 from 2015 onward and remember when the gang was putting out weekly content might peg when this song was originally meant to be released. That is, among the other two Love Bite’s in the database. Sadly I fell ill, and although the instruments were done, it took me this long to chart vocals and spruce everything up to my standards. But, here it is.
As for the song itself, does it need a sale? Or an introduction? Chances are you know this song and love it, so go grab two friends and harmonise away!
Wow, this is sick.
