All consoles will play customs fine. The key you want to think about is the type of Rock Band 3 disc you own. Don’t get the Games on Demand version from Xbox Live, and don’t get a copy with the Mad Catz logo anywhere on it.

This would be an example of a copy which WILL work with customs:

    However this would not

Note the red Mad Catz logo on the bottom right on the second one.

The reason why the Mad Catz copy must be avoided is because there is a specific TU (title update) that customs will work on, and that is TU4. The Mad Catz version, as is my understanding, ships with TU5 by default, and will not downgrade to TU4. The EA version, on the other hand, ships with no TU, and can be upgraded to TU4.

Just a quick status update, going to be releasing Mowgli’s Road probably today and am currently uploading another song, Bubblegum Bitch. Just have to finish up this Mowgli’s Road drum chart, which I might need help with. It almost never does the same thing twice, which I think will make it an extremely fun song to play on drums.

Mowgli’s Road features full multitracks and keys/harmonies. Word of warning about keys, though, the keys stem I had has a harpsichord, a piano, synth, and another synth or two all mixed into one. It was rather difficult to chart so I just switched instruments whenever one was meant to stand out over another (otherwise it would be driving harpsichord chords for the whole song, which isn’t very fun!) which happens multiple times. Also, as a result of not having clear, separated stems, there will be no Pro Keys, just 5 lane.

I hope you enjoy Mowgli’s Road when I release it as I have been working on it for the past few days pretty religiously, trying to make it as good as it can be, and because i have stems, as accurate as it can be. Needless to say, it is my best chart so far.

Man, I’ve wanted Marina songs for a LONG while. Thanks for these!

Saw the list of other Marina songs you’re working on, but nothing off FROOT? <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

I’d love to see “Savages”, “FROOT” and “Blue”, heck even “I’m a Ruin” would be a great play.

I actually technically already did Blue, but for some reason when I play it in-game it falls out of sync (I tried to fix this multiple times, not sure what’s going on) and the chart is a bit rough. Would definitely love to do Froot, Savages, and Weeds off that album, any of those songs would be great in Rock Band I think. Froot is going to be hard though, because the instruments are very layered and hard to hear without good audio equipment, which I lack.

Also, guys, I’m releasing I Am Not a Robot today. Just gotta go through a final round of playtesting. It won’t have multitracks like I thought, because I realized the stems I have for it didn’t have drums or bass.

    oh hey dude

Forgot you even played Rock Band…sup Zedd

Thanks for this guide. I made a custom using the RBN docs a few months ago but lost it (song was Marina and the Diamonds – I Am Not a Robot). It was also a complete shit show, which had bad tempo mapping and a horrible venue track. I think I’ll go back and do it more properly and follow this guide, then release it here. Some people might appreciate it, even though the song itself is fairly simple, but I mainly made it so I could later sing it.
