Amazing release! The Springsteen pack alone makes donating worthwhile. Thank you so much!
December 3, 2019 at 12:09 pm in reply to: Chart-a-thon Final Day, Final Release! C3 NYE Bash! #508102I only started using customs in the past six months. Been playing since launch of RB1 and am still paying for and downloading RB4 DLC up until today. I’d love to be able to have all the songs I have across both platforms available in one place but equally I would never want to see anything that risked this community so why risk it?

Looking forward to more Ben Folds too!
Thanks folks. I actually decided to start the custom from scratch. I did a tempo map and cleaned up the bass chart I had done but decided I’d rather do it as best as possible and so made a clean start on it.
I have bass done and just wants a little refinement, and the basic drums are down and just needing some cleaning up on fills etc. Did an export to try it out as it is on RB3 and it’s pretty damn exciting seeing something you’ve put an evenings work into on screen.
January 26, 2019 at 9:57 am in reply to: C3X World Tour: Leg Two, Week Two: Happy Australia Day #503174Oh man, I really should have figured this one out from the date, stupid me! Great selection of Aussie artists though, looking forward to giving these a play this afternoon.
Thanks for this great doc. I’ve been dabbling with editing existing customs so far but after reading through this a few times and getting used to Reaper I now plan to start on my first custom.
It’s Eddie Van Halen’s birthday on Saturday so a Van Halen pack maybe? I don’t know their music well enough to link any of the clues if so
The thread last week was by me. I have a chronic knee injury which makes using the kick drum extremely painful. I’ve spent a lot of time over the past week removing the kick notes from all the customs I have downloaded (approx. 1200).
I’d be happy to share these if that is any help? I’d have to get permission from each of the original authors though, perhaps they could be added as additional options on the original entries in the customs database?
Not sure what I was getting wrong but have now fixed it and converted around 30 songs over to feature no kick notes.
Thanks for all the help folks, greatly appreciated.
Go into the Customs Database and download the ‘Other Files’ for either Rush – Far Cry or Taco – Puttin’ on the Ritz.
Both of those are mine. In the Other Files I provided a “second version” of the released song for people that wanted to play it. The download for each is a .zip file which has instructions for patching a con file (since that’s what you have to do for mine). Just replace the names for everything with what you are working on, and that should tell you everything you need to do.
If you still have a freezing issue after, you might have altered something on accident in the .mid when exporting. If so, post the mid somewhere online to download and someone can try and take a look.
Thaks. Followed your README and that’s precisely the steps I was following so it must be something I’ve messed up in the MIDI. I’ll take another run it at and then if I’m still having problems I’ll share the file.
In the midi editor on Reaper, simply hovering over the note name EXPERT Kick and right-clicking will select all the expert kicks, and from there, you can press the “delete” key on your keyboard to delete all the expert kicks at once. This can be repeated for the other difficulties as well.
Took a run at this today using the following steps.
Use ConTools to extract the midi > Open RBN template in Reaper > Drag the MIDI onto the template starting at 3.1 > Remove all Expert Kicks > Export MIDI > Use the replace file option in ConTools, Save.
Whenever I try to load this custom in RB3 now the game freezes on the loading screen. I’m doing a load of reading and search but any suggestions or what I’m doing wrong to cause the issue (custom worked fine before I edited it)
