  • I really needed to ask though, Can any of you guys tell me what conflict could be making this happen in terms of the songs.

Because, I haven’t played Rockband 3 for 2 months. But What I have been doing is checking the customs database and downloading songs that I like for the past 2 months and adding them to the drive.

Is it possible that someone uploaded a bad custom and I added it? I can try to remove every song I’ve added in the past 2 months and try it, but my problem isn’t a song thats corrupt it seems. Its a song that is conflict with another song.

Most probable cause: you have a song that is fucking shit up and you have to find that song and delete it (or fix it). Could also be multiple songs.

Yea, its really frustrating because I added all my custom songs batch by batch according to letter and they all work. But as soon as I put them all on the flashdrive it gives me the unreadable error.

So either, BOTH usb drives are not reading the songs fast enough and tricking the xbox to skip or there are songs that are conflicting with each other when loading together, but work when they are loaded separately.

Okay, so this is weird. I loaded the songs on to a USB drive by letter. So All customs startings with “A” and load up rockband 3.

Everything went smoothly and I stopped at S. I assumed all songs from A-S are perfectly fine. So I put them on a USB drive and load them up, then I get the unreadable error prompt.

It seems like I’m only getting it when I load a certain amount of songs.

A corrupted custom can cause crashes. I remember this was an issue with one particular custom when C3G was released, though I don’t remember the exact error it was giving.

If you wanted to test for this, unfortunately, your best bet is to backup and remove every custom you’ve got, then install one and see if it throws the same error. If if it doesn’t, then it’s possibly one of your other customs, and I’d reinstall and test them in batches. With a larger library (like your 50gb one), this will take a while, but if it is a corrupt custom giving you a hard time and you re-add them in batches it’ll be easier to narrow down which custom is giving you a problem.

Yea, thanks. It was a corrupted song. I had to slowly eliminate songs by alphabetical order. It took hours, but its all working like it should. Thanks for your guys help.

Can A corrupted custom file do this? And How could I find it?

you prob got tu update 5 by accident. hunt it down delete it

I tried multiple USB drives and I even reformatted the xbox hard drive.

It even asks me when I start the game if I want to download title update #5 and I say no everytime.

If I reformat everything and try fresh again, it registers the custom songs off the USB and then the “Unreadable Disc” error pops up when it starts loading the list of custom songs.

Do you think the xbox harddrive could be dying?

Screenshot%202019-01-25%2022.43.16.png?dYou can go on for days but you can’t do a simple search? Hall and Oates and Kool and the Gang songs are both official DLC and the Michael Jackson song is in the customs database

Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

Yes a few are done. I didn’t see the micheal Jackson song and The song ” I can’t go for that” by hall & Oates, for some reason can’t be seen in the search if you type in the artist. Only the title of the song.

But I didn’t really search those two. But I was merely giving examples of the genre that we are missing in rockband. Majority of Hall & oates songs on the database are their more poppy songs. Same for micheal jackson.

But the songs at the top of the list are ones I’ve really wanted more than the ones at the bottom. which are not added yet. Isley brothers “shout” is in rockband but none of their soul/RnB songs. And yes, I could go on and list more songs that are in that genre that we don’t have that are very very popular. Hence why I think its odd that they haven’t been added yet. But the search engine gave me the wrong results for the micheal jackson and hall & oates results. But I double checked on wikipedia.

Surprised R&b/soul songs with good guitar work or instrumentation are not added. I could go on for how many songs are missing, but I’m guessing most people are interested in rock and metal and the game is called “rockband” so I guess I understand why so many songs of that genre are missing. Because these songs are not shy of popular. They are just under represented.

    example

And The Beat Goes On-The Whispers

    Choosey Lover – Isley Brothers

Footsteps in the Dark – Isley Brothers

Papa Was A Rolling Stone-The Temptations

    Sade – The Sweetest Taboo

George Benson – Give Me The Night

Barry White – Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love Baby.

Daryl Hall & John Oates – I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)

    The O’Jays – Forever Mine

Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough

Indeep – Last Night A DJ Saved My Life

Kool & The Gang – Celebration

    Ain’t Nobody – Chaka Khan

I could go on for days.

I personally do not like flamenco, nor do I like bachata

What about Rosalia Malamente y pienso en tu mira

in reply to: Songs in spanish – Canciones en español #502511

I’d love some Flamenco or even Spanish Pop. Maybe Bachata too.

in reply to: Some bands I’m surprised no one attempted #501419

Two of those bolded bands have songs on the Rock Band Network.

Yea, I realized. That is also partially why I was surprised that no one attempted them since they are at least known to people who are aware of the Rockband DLC or music list.

Like there is Your Trechery will die with you from Dying fetus. But homicidal retribution from a more popular song on its own at the time.

in reply to: Some bands I’m surprised no one attempted #501361

I laughed pretty hard when I saw that. I’ve never seen the Isley Brothers mentioned alongside Cryptopsy and Dying Fetus (lol)…

Good music is Good music. But Isley brothers has really good guitar and vocals to be had. Same with the Whispers.

Coal Chamber and Mushroomhead are kind of the underrated Nu-metal area.

And it seems people really like Death Metal But I feel if people want more challenge with guitar/Drums using Death Metal Necrophagist and Cryptopsy is a way to go.

But hey, the Whispers and Nsync was up there too!

in reply to: How to play Customs and DLC at the same time? #501169

This question is old, but I still don’t see any clarification on this. There is only TU5 stick and official DLC or TU4 and customs. But there is no way to play both?

you can’t play your official DLC unless you logon to your account AND connect to xbox live, but if you connect to xbox live it will force and update and restart the game. Maybe someone is smarter than me to figure out how to get both at the the same time.

Its not the end of the world, but it is annoying having 800 selections on one drive, then having to switch sticks and restart just to get my other 800 songs.

in reply to: What caused the downfall of RB & GH? #501153

I honestly think it would still be popular if they moved with the times. Like A) make it easier and more accessible to hook up a full drum kit, or a multiple octave keyboard, and more interesting keyboard and better microphone alternatives that you can use for karaoke. You won’t be able to have every song that everyone wants and you won’t be able to cater to all levels of individual skill. I grew out of the instruments, but I think playing pro drums is still interesting. The only thing that I really enjoy is the vocals because thats the closest to the real thing you’re going to get. But not everyone wants to sing rock songs. They don’t have an RnB or singing enchanced songs. Even the customs here don’t really have any of that.

The lack of multiplayer play is another problem or the really late introduction of the multiplayer player is another problem. People don’t do the split/screen come-over-and-play thing much anymore. Everything is about online playing. Multiplayer is what sets the longevity of a game. and there is no competitiveness online. Its all a point system which just means the person with the least amount of life outside the game can get to the leaderboards, theres no skill competition really. My roommate is like #2 in the world on Rockband 4. but he is unemployed and plays all day while drinking. Doesn’t sound like much fun to me, but when you’re drunk the person doesn’t care.

in reply to: What caused the downfall of RB & GH? #501151

Just like anything that dies, its the lack of features or limitation of features. Console games do this because they want the game to become irrelevant by the time the next installment comes out. This is how the industry makes its money.

However, rockband has a different problem that all other games have and thats the licensing songs problem. Pc players don’t care about licensing of songs. This website is a perfect example. Harmonix is a big company, they wouldn’t want to do the limewire approach and release it for PC with a “song creator” and expect people to upload their own custom songs. Then say, “whoops” when a licensed songs gets through.

There would be too many lawsuits. But then again, I’m against intellectual property in general.
