So, it turns out it was an issue with errors that had been generated and saved that I couldn’t get past. Fujuskunk cleared them out and I was able to get it posted. The metadata still shows the info for the old version of the song, which is a known bug they’re working on fixing.
Can’t figure out how to edit this post, so I’ll just drop a comment below here.
Finished the 4 that were indicated above. Current WIP:Everclear – So Much for the Afterglow
Gary Clark Jr. – Bright LightsIs there any documentation about how to use this process (with the upgrade bundler)? I found this in a post:
“For anyone else not sure how to use the Upgrade Bundler, this is the process that worked for me:
1. move song file from Xbox to USB
2. Open USB on PC using USBtoRB3
3. Extract song file to HDD on your PC
4. use this extracted song file in Upgrade Bundler
5. in your HDD directory there will now be two song files: the one you extracted, and a new RBHP bundled version. Move only the “[song title] (bundled)” song file back to your Xbox
6. on your Xbox, delete the RB3 song cache file
7. start RB3″
Looks like
You get the file from the Xbox, then upgrade, then put the upgraded file on the Xbox in place of the original? Is there any way to upgrade files that appear on the disc or are those inaccessible?
I assume this would need to be done individually for every individual track to be upgraded? I feel like I’ve got a lot. Looks like it may take longer than I expected.
Thanks for the help by the way.
August 6, 2020 at 2:25 am in reply to: The Beatles Rock Band Custom DLC Project – New Release: “Lady Madonna/The Inner Light” #513328Not sure who is reading these posts, but if any help is needed transferring the content from TBRB to RB3, I’d be more than happy to put in the non-trivial amount of work required to get them transferred.
I’m a huge Beatles fan – I charted Not Guilty for god’s sake. So I’m, shall I say desperate, for the entire catalog to be released. I’ve been itching to play some of those songs on Please Please Me for years.
Also, I don’t have a modded Xbox (and have friends who like to play non-Beatles songs – still don’t fully understand that one).I completely get where the authors are coming from in wanting the Beatles songs in their native game. I miss the dreamscapes when I’m playing them in RB3, but it is the price I pay to play them more often.
Reach out if you need help. Dump the crappy transfer work on me and you guys can get back to making original TBRB tracks. If I have to re-chart every single note by looking at your chart, so be it. That’s the level of work I’m willing to put in.
Edit: Would have contacted you on discord, but I haven’t figured out that platform yet. I’m old. Get off my lawn (ok – I don’t have a lawn, the whole thing is a garden nowadays. Get out of my apple trees).
I’ve got one you can cross off your list. Oasis – Bag It Up is already in the database.
I’m close to finishing up a few songs I’ve been focusing on lately and wouldn’t be adverse to helping out with some Oasis next. Force of Nature would be my top choice from what you’ve posted, with The Masterplan as a second. I wouldn’t complain about anything in the Oasis discography (although songs from Be Here Now do get a bit long and I wouldn’t relish charting a 7 or 9 minute beast). On my someday list I also have Waiting for the Rapture and the Flashbax if either of those tempt you.
I can chart any part, but vocals take me forever (harmonies are still a challenge to pick out), and on drums my charts are workable but I’m not super confident they’re perfect. It would be fun to try to put all that orchestral stuff onto a keys part for the Masterplan.
September 28, 2019 at 2:38 am in reply to: What kind of missing features would you most appreciate added to mostly finished customs? #507289I think my biggest pet peeve is that one venue (which seems to be included in the randomly generated venue options) that shows an overhead view of a large stadium rock show looking out on the audience full of grey shirted individuals. It cycles through about a 2 second zoom out, then jumps back to its original position. It is super disorienting trying to play the scrolling notes while the background is on that continuous loop. I’d most appreciate re-generating any venue that ended up with that particular option.
Pitched vocals would be a close second.
I can’t wait to hear the bonus tracks. Historically Abbey Road has been underrepresented in bootleg form, so I’m hoping they found some nice gems that haven’t been available until now (or at least ones that the available quality was poor but is now excellent).
I’m holding out until Xmas since I need something to put on a list for people to gift me. I’ll also have proper time to sit back and appreciate it then.
Cool. Thanks.
Very helpful everyone. Thanks for the replies. My way forward is 100% clear now.
February 24, 2019 at 9:00 pm in reply to: Can you record your voice and have it converted to a MIDI in Reaper or elsewhere? #503588No actual experience in this, but a quick google search lead me to this forum that discussed that there are programs (and possibly a reaper plug-in) that might do what you’re looking for.
I just tried to download some of the harmony updates. It looks like the keepitfishy download links are down. The master package is available (google drive), but it does not appear that all the parts to make it work are available.
Does anyone have the custom packager or the 360 installation guide handy to share?
December 14, 2018 at 4:27 am in reply to: Of Monsters and Men, Imagine Dragons, Other Artists, and Mashups #502403Robbie Williams – Candy!
I’m a huge Robbie Williams fan. He’s already on my list of artists to chart (but I’m very slow going). I had Karma Killer picked out for my first one of his to do. But Candy looks fun too. Great drum part. Nice bass. Not much interesting for guitar – mostly in the background. So much other instrumentation that keys would definitely be necessary (and could possibly pass some of the excess onto the guitar – like Beatles rock band does when the guitar is pretty much absent).
Honestly, I’d take any song from the album it’s from. Truth be told, I’d probably chart any Robbie Williams song. Now all I need is about 323 years of free time.
I’ll put it on the “someday” list. I know there’s a few other Robbie songs that have been done, so maybe someone will beat it to me.
Smart to make it known to all what you are working on. I too have cancelled a song due to not knowing someone else was working on it. Wasn’t a big deal but now I announce whatever I am working on to avoid that in the future.
Good luck with your customs! Looking forward to the Beatles one!
Thanks! If I get decently good at this, I may offer my services to the Beatles Anthology project (assuming I can tear myself away from other songs I want to see done, but don’t expect anyone else would be doing).
On a possibly related note, has anyone else noticed that a few of the tracks that were transferred from the official game suffer from really low master track volumes? Now that I’ve made my first custom, I suspect that they just had the master audio lowered when they exported the wav to build the con file.
If I have time I’ll figure out which do this (I know there are at least 2 of them – possibly both from Abbey Road). Maybe whomever made the files could fix them.
