May 3, 2013 – Queensrÿche's "Promised Land" full album and a Guns N' Roses 4-pack!
Note: Videos contain authoring issues that have been fixed, and are for preview purposes only.
The Customs Creators Collective has an interesting dichotomy. On one hand, we want to honor the players’ requests and release stuff like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. On the other, we’re not a multi-million dollar company — we’re just some people who like Rock Band, and we want to author songs that we like! Sometimes, these two halves line up naturally, like April 19’s Led Zeppelin 6-pack, and sometimes we make them line up.
This week’s release is one of the latter, including both songs that WE like and songs we know YOU’LL like. C3 author farottone, who authored all of this week’s songs, has this to say about the first half:
I wanted to write a short note about this week’s release personally. Me and my wife are huge DeGarmo-era Queensryche fans and so I did a lot, and I mean a lot, of Queensryche material. I’m going to release full albums and they’re gonna have rhythm versions and possibly other bells and whistles. Now, I know Queesryche are not that mainstream so every Friday that features Queensryche material I’ll also try to have something of a broader appeal from my old catalogue upgraded with new content, as in this week’s case. With that said, give these albums a shot, the music is really good, every album has a different feel, Tate is/was (time takes its toll) one of the 4-5 best voices ever in rock/metal history and the songs are done with the utmost care.
Credits for this album must be shared with xlxAvaricexlx, who did half of this album song’s guitar, bass and drums charts and did the Bridge regular version. Without him this album could not have been completed so fast, so thanks bud!
Pursuing our personal passions (and achieving awesome alliteration) is important to us, and we hope that you’ll come to love our favorite bands as much as we do. (And, of course, if you’re already a Queensrÿche fan, go nuts!) Without further walls of text, this week’s songs:

What is the Community Spotlight? We don’t claim to hold a monopoly on all custom songs. C3 only hosts songs that have passed through our verification and release process, which leaves out literally hundreds of songs — even songs that might meet our standards. The Community Spotlight brings attention to non-C3 songs that we consider noteworthy, even ones that don’t yet have all instruments or difficulties. If you’re interested in downloading any of these songs, check out the community “Custom RB Songs” spreadsheet linked in our sidebar.
Nothing for me. Great stuff though
Nice to get some more Guns N Roses, and I’ll have to give Queensryche a listen too, because in the preview they sound pretty solid.
Ooh! I like!
Promised Land may be my favorite Queensryche album, but it seems to be underrated versus Empire / Mindcrime. Imagine my ridiculous delight when I saw the whole album. You have made my month, sirs.
Also, some of the download links are not redirecting to the files on my end:
– I Am I
– Damaged (non-rhythm)
– Lady Jane (both versions)
No rush, though.
Awesome to read you liked this. 🙂 Links work for me though, maybe a retry?
Ah, they are working for me now. Cheers!
When you release Operation Mindcrime, I’ll name one of my kids after you
I started physically gyrating when I saw that this week’s bands were Queensryche and GnR. Farottone, your taste and skill in customs could not make me happier. Just don’t burn yourself out with these titanic song packs!
OH WOW DUDE. This is grand! I just bought Tomb Raider yesterday, but it looks like it’s going to sit on the shelf for this weekend. 🙂
Thanks but Nothing for this week
Awesome week! I have been waiting for GNR for ages! Any chances we’ll be seeing more GNR (Use Your Illusion Material) in the future?
I’ve seen proof that customs for November Rain, Live and Let Die & Knockin’ On Heavens Door do excist. I haven’t been able to find them yet, unfortunately.
yes. patience 🙂
*sees what you did there*
Oh crap…what did I do now? I seriously don’t know the songs well, so if you mean you think I suggested a song or an album named Patience…sorry! I mean, it may be, I really don’t know. I just know more GnR is coming 🙂
Would have been quite the teaser though… If you, yourself, saw what you did there 😀
This happens EVERY single time we tease GnR. 😀 There’s no Patience in the pipeline, it really is only about being patient. 🙂
i would love it if we got the live version of knocking on heaven’s door (performed on the UYI tour).
Nice. Hoping Empire album is coming as well….used to be my fav of Queensryche.
Is there anything different on the GnR tracks in this release vs the older release of those 4? or the same? Don’t want to re-dl anything I already have unless there was a change.
yes you should re-download them. all songs featured in the From the Vault releases will be updated before releasing, these were too.
If I replace the songs and run the game will the new ones appear or do I need to delete the song cache like I read in one of the other RB projects?
What I do with my customs (and I say “mine” just because not all authors do that) is keeping the same song ID for songs with no metadata changed and change the song ID for songs with metadata changed (added instruments, changed tiers, etc.). That means you can load the new songs and you’re fine, no cache rebuild or anything. However, you may need to physically delete the old file since the new one has a different file name so it won’t overwrite. They’re pretty easy to spot: they have a v# suffix.
No pro guitar/bass on any of the tracks…
Can’t have them every week, we don’t really have a dedicated pro guitar/bass charter on our midst to churn them out often. At least one song next week will have it. If you can chart and would like to volunteer, get in touch with us.
Late question, but any particular reason why there’s only four GnR songs in that pack? Last I saw, the original release of those tracks had another one available…
I have been RB since the beginning but on the wrong platform… Was totally unaware of custom DLC and am a greenhorn on the xbox360 but have decent compskills… So now i see that i have 500 paid for dlc for the playstation that i can get all the songs i have been thinking about for xbox dlc from you awesome dream makers who have been working so hard to keep RB alive… I was wondering and have seen the youtube video but still am slighty scared to move to my xbox and start the process HELP
