i need a new mic too = but I guess any old USB one will do from what I’ve read.

Yeah I just bought a cheap Logitech wired USB mic for my third mic (gotta get those triple harmonies!) that works great. Heck, you could probably even find the RockBand branded USB mics for cheap too.

Only problem is I’ve had to buy so many wired mics. I love doing the lasso with them even though I know it’s bad for them. I’ve reverted back to the 360 wireless one, but the delay is just killer if you’re going for score (luckily I’m not most the time).

So over a month later I finally got around to testing the instruments from The Great Craigslist Purchase. Everything is in excellent working condition and in pretty good aesthetic condition too. Only problem was the Grestch Duo guitar gets stuck if you down strum, works fine if you only upstrum. Beautiful thing to have even if it didn’t work.

I found myself surprised at how much I enjoyed using the Rickenbacker guitar. It just felt great.

And I scored the 3-cymbal kit new in box today at a local Gamestop for $15 :c00l:

And I was about to point out that cymbal kits and keyboards can still be bought at some Gamestops. (Though I only found a 2-cymbal kit, the same one you mention in original post, at a Gamestop for like 12 dollars in total. The keyboards they had though were only for PS3 or Wii. Didn’t had any Xbox 360 keyboards which made me sad).

I also wanted to point out you can buy used guitars and microphones still at some trading stores. (“The Exchange” is one store I know that does it). They don’t take drums though as the fail rate for drums is too high for them to make any profit…

Btw. Wanted to ask. The red guitar, does it have a removable stalk? If so, then I’m NOT getting one of those. I currently have a guitar which has a removable stalk and because of it being removable, it screws up a lot… Sometimes the buttons don’t “check” properly in the middle of a song and I can easily miss a note or two. (Normally it is blue but it can be any of them). Been look for a guitar which doesn’t have the removable stalk thing… And isn’t the RB3 guitar. (The RB3 guitar seems to be the one which is highly able to gain a broken strummer. My last guitar was such and it did gain such and I broke it even more when trying to fix it).

I believe all GH guitars have necks that separate from the body. That one did, and the Les Pauls did. Guitars with necks that don’t separate = RB style guitars. Good luck finding a new one in good condition. I would try Craigslist like I did. Now I got to find me a couple of Les Pauls in good condition and I’ll be happy with my collection of guitars that should last me a long while

That’s what I’m thinking of doing honestly. I should be able to have a Craigslist account and such wit’out having any credit/debit card stuff, right?

I might even use to sell some stuff…

The Warriors of Rock guitar (my personal favorite GH controller and my current RB daily driver) doesn’t have a detachable neck, since it is practically nothing but a neck with “wings” that attach to the sides. If you take them off, you can pretend it’s Chapman Stick.

Otherwise yeah, all of the guitars after Neversoft took over have detachable necks.

Right, forgot that thing. I actually had it AND had the Axe wings for it, but back when I started on the Wii. So it all got sold. I couldn’t stand that guitar shape :what:

Yeah, I think the consensus was that it wasn’t very good. I like it though, especially since it’s the only GH guitar that doesn’t dig in and leave marks on my strumming forearm after playing for awhile, and it doesn’t suffer from any neck disconnection issues.

X-plorer doesn’t have the detachable neck and is a GH guitar, right?

But you’re talking about a guitar that is what, 6+ years old now? Why would you go for such an old guitar just to avoid a detachable neck? I wouldn’t suggest it. And also, there’s nothing inherently wrong with GH guitars with detachable necks. My favorite guitar is the GH5 one and I’ve used it on both the Wii and the Xbox for years.

Cuz the detachable neck one I have has problems cause of the detachable neck…

So you’re the type of person that when you get a tire that blows out you’re going to replace your car with a bicycle, because your car’s tire blew out? That makes no sense.

You have one bad guitar. So? Get a new one. And the detachable neck is not a problem unless you’re constantly detaching it. One bad experience doesn’t mean you need to give up modern equipment and go back to an ancient guitar. You think you’re going to find that new somewhere? If you buy it used, it may already be damaged or near to being damaged from all these years of use.

The saying is “if you fall from the horse, get back on it and keep going” (more or less). Not “if you fall from the horse never look at a horse again because you’ll fall again and instead ride a goat.”

Eh… It just makes me not trust the detachable neck stuff but that red guitar you have looks awesome… Is there a wired version of that one?

Then again… The 2nd black guitar looks awesome too!

No I don’t believe there is a wired version of the GH5 guitar. I thought they stopped making wired guitars after GH1 / RB1 ?

RB3 has a wired version of its guitar…

It is EXTREMELY stupid to NOT have a wired version of any controller… I honestly HATE having wireless. Don’t like screwing with the batteries and such… Even though I have rechargeable set now.

I know the X-plorer has a wired version and that was GH2/GH3 age if I’m correct… I’ll look around.
