Send me both and I’ll send you one back with a nice MIDI jack all ready to go

If that means I can play my midi drums in RB4, I’ve got a pair of old RB drum kits for you. I will even hand deliver them with a bonus bottle of bourbon.

Of course. One is my old Beatles set and the other is a RB2 set that I got on Craigslist a long time ago.

    The MPA/ION work on the PS4 .

Truly? The official list says ION is supported but MPA is not.

Hmm… Perhaps I will pick one up after the rumored impending price drop.

Mmm, I see, maybe I was wrong actually. I read the discussions on the official forums and interpreted those as “wired instruments work on PS4”, but I may be wrong.

I can absolutely confirm that the MPA works as an RB4 controller on the PS4.

EDIT: One caveat! It only works when set to ‘Drums’.

I assume they’ve mentioned it publicly somewhere, but I pinged one of my friends on the dev team, and I do know they’re working on midi support for things like v-drums.

My 2 cents: as far as I’m concerned, I probably won’t switch to RB4.

I didn’t buy a current gen console yet, don’t plan to do so for the moment, don’t want to feel obligated to go XBOne because of the DLC I bought earlier, and most of my current instruments would be of no use on RB4. And judging from the lacking features (goodbye keyboard) to the rushed release (hello paying beta-testers), seems like the game is pretty unconvincing for now.

Last but not least, on a side note, as a european customer, I’m absolutely appalled by HMX/Mad Catz pricing and availabillity policies, that makes Activision seems reasonable in comparison. And since it worsens with each game, I’ll keep my money in my pocket for a while.

I live in Europe and my pre-ordered adapter+game has shipped. In Italy the game will be available next week at a 280 euros price tag for the band bundle.

Well the bundle is priced at 300 Euros here in France (and still not deliverable) and 250 $ in the US (roughly 220€). I know the video game industry likes to play the whole 1€=1$ rule as far as pricing goes, even if that means we got to pay 10/15% more, but we’re talking of a 35 % raise here (same thing for the adapters, by the way). And most of the stuff is pretty hard to find and quickly unavailable. Show a little love HMX !

(By the way GH Live is surprisingly cheap, even here, I wonder what happened to the good ole Activision).

It may not be entirely up to Harmonix. With Mad Catz playing publisher and distributor of both the game and the hardware, I imagine most of the pricing decisions are coming from them.

Meanwhile, it’s T + 2 days since launch and I still have no box from Amazon. But then I haven’t yet bought an XBone either, so I’m cool with it. I figure the longer I wait, the more of those DLC entitlement kinks and such will have been ironed out. With 1,000+ DLC songs waiting to be shifted, the fewer kinks the better!

I couldn’t agree more, the fact that HMX rebecame an indie developer made them very dependant of their new publisher/distributor as far as business decisions goes, and unfortunately Mad Catz doesn’t seem to be the best company from a customer POV. Anyway that’s not the main reason why I won’t indulge myself in the new RB4 pleasures, but I needed to rant a little about it

Let’s not kid ourselves, Mad Catz has America as priority numero uno and Canada, Europe and Australia/NZ are all way less important. This has pretty much always been the case with RB even when EA was handling distribution, but it’s a little more understandable with Mad Catz since they’re not doing too well financially. It took 6 months for me to find drums when RB1 came out and probably 8 months before I was able to find a keyboard for RB3. And I’m 90 minutes from Detroit and Buffalo.

At least RB4 releases this month for you guys…here it’s not out until November, and as far as I can see, there’s no BIAB version scheduled to come out

    …ain’t that the truth.

Weird, after customs I care little about content now and a lot about features.
