It’s always sounded like an incredibly fun guitar riff (starting around 0:09), and the drums are fast but quite consistent. I’ve always wanted to play drums on this song – the drums and bass also have a great “punch” to them, in a way I can only describe as reminding me slightly of Foster the People. There’s also a keyboard part mixed in rather far back, but definitely there and it’s one of those songs that just doesn’t sound the same without the background keyboard/horns/synths. Would make for a perfect easy-midrange difficulty song on all instruments, and would probably be fairly easy to even make a pro guitar part (for anyone so inclined) since the guitar riff simply repeats for the majority of the song.
And just on a personal note, this song always picks me up when I’m having a shitty day/week/month – probably due to its surface-level message: “Fuck everyone, let’s have a drink and stop worrying for a bit about life. And we’ll keep doing that until things get better.”
