Hello all,
I have been around this site for almost two years now, downloading and enjoying everyone’s releases and it inspired me to learn how to make some myself following the C3 videos and documentation online. Ultimately I’d like to share those songs with you, but the problem I’m having is that after a year of practice I’m still unable to get to grips with some of the aspects of customs that others among you might find relatively easy such as effects, reductions, some vocals… I don’t have the time to keep at it as much as I’d like and as time passes I’m sad that everyone else isn’t having the joy in playing them as my mate and I do before we go on a night-out. These titles are ones I keep seeing appear on people’s wish-lists and yet I’m sitting on them and play them regularly.
Therefore I thought I’d ask if there is anyone out-there who might be more experienced at customs to have a look at them and polish-them-up and maybe make them into full and proper customs for everyone to enjoy as a bit of a joint enterprise? My mate and I tend to only play guitar, drum and solo vocals all on expert so in almost all of my songs these are the only parts that exist. I believe they’re all correctly tempo-mapped at each bar and at this time they all pass through Magma correctly. The songs I have currently are:
:: Tina Turner – Simply The Best
:: Bonnie Tyler – Holding Out For A Hero
:: The Bangles – Eternal Flame
:: Bryan Adams – Everything I Do (I Do For You)
:: Celine Dion – Think Twice
:: Kick-Ass Soundtrack – Flying Home (Instrumental)
So if anyone would like to help please let me know and I’ll send you through all the relevant files for you to cast your more experienced and expert eye over and polish-up as you feel necessary, add reductions etc. I know it might sound lazy but personally I’d be happy to just upload the versions I have at the moment, but I know I’d be hit with a ton of disappointment at the half-cut nature of them and you’d all ask why if we’ve all waited for such hits for so long, we can’t wait just a little longer for them to be perfect?
Anyway, thank you everyone for all your hard work and long may it continue. You’ve made my mate and I really really happy over the last couple of years!
Rob.
October 22, 2015 at 12:45 am #457946I could help out on holding out for a hero if you’d like. Feel free to toss me the source files and I’ll see what needs to be done.
October 22, 2015 at 2:06 am #457949I can’t promise I’d get to them any time soon, but I’m willing to look at anything no one else volunteers for, particularly “Eternal Flame” and “Everything I Do (I Do It for You)”.
October 22, 2015 at 8:48 pm #457994Wow, I would love Everything I Do (I Do It For You) and Eternal Flame. All of the songs are great though. Thank you very much for doing these songs!

April 4, 2016 at 6:45 pm #466479Hello chaps,
After waiting years for someone whos better at making these custom songs than I am to put-out some classic power ballads that I’d already attempted, I’ve bitten the bullet and put most of mine up for download. I’ve got better at them over time, but I’m still having a few problems with the vocals on two songs especially; Think Twice by Celine Dion and Stay by Shakesperes Sister. For some reason I just can’t get them right. I’m not sure whether they are even in the right key and I’m just awful at singing! Either way if anyone is interested in looking at them (someone whos good with pitch), I’ll happily send over the files.

April 4, 2016 at 7:32 pm #466487I merged your posts together. You don’t need multiple posts for the same thing. WIPs go in this forum. If you need help for your WIPs, that still goes in this forum, in the same thread you already have.
April 4, 2016 at 11:44 pm #466509Hi Rob – thanks for sharing.
I just downloaded “Everything I Do” and “Eternal Flame”. I noticed the CON file sizes were very large (26MB+ and 15MB+). Dragged them into the C3 CON tools “Audio Analyzer”, and can see that you’ve specified the same .wav for all instruments. This typically results in audio clipping in-game (I haven’t checked yet, but I will in a couple of minutes). I believe the proper technique is to have blank audio tracks for the instrument tracks, and only the “Backing” track having a non-blank .wav. I’ll play through on guitar and post my gameplay impressions in a bit.
April 5, 2016 at 1:22 am #466517If you don’t mind….here’s a couple of quick gameplay notes on your WIPs. Played guitar and vocals on Bryan Adams “Everything I Do (I Do It For You)” and the Bangles “Eternal Flame”.
* General note authorship looks decent. Guitar notes seemed to follow reasonable patterns, etc. I totally forgot that there was a second guitar solo in the extended version of “Everything I Do…”, so that was a surprise to see.
* Sustains are too long, not all multiple syllable words are broken into syllables in vocals. These were two easy to fix things that I noticed.
* It felt like the audio and gameplay fell out synch at a couple of different points in each song. Some guitar notes do not appear on the gridlines, as well. (I didn’t play drums). Tempo map probably needs some revision.
*Audio was clipping per my note above.
I’ll be interested to see what others think. Thanks again for posting these.
April 5, 2016 at 11:33 am #466537This typically results in audio clipping in-game.
Not to mention whammy bar and free fills shenanigans.
April 6, 2016 at 5:07 am #466597I’d like to try some of your customs including “Shakespeare’s Sister – Stay” But can you choose a different file hosting provider, one that doesn’t require me to provide an email address, and multiple steps to just download a file. There are so many others, mediafire, dropbox, googledrive, etc
