At the beginning of a custom song, before the music starts, the vocalist is standing on stage behind the microphone stand. It looks like the vocalist pushes the stand with their foot and rotates their body to the left a little bit and then repeats this action until the song begins. Is there a “command” to add in Reaper or any way to prevent this action so the vocalist stands still before the song starts? None of the other band characters move, just the vocalist. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
First of all, does this custom song have a vocals part? Without one, you can’t control the vocalist animations.
When authoring vocals animations, are the idle markers being used?
Yes there is a vocals part and the animations are autogenerated. I looked at the Part Vocals midi track and the first marker is a “play” event. Should I add an “idle” event before the play event?
Yes.
Basically, for any significant amount of time where there is no singing, including at the beginning of the song, you should have either [idle] or [idle_realtime]. With [idle] the singer still moves to the beat of the song, while with [idle_realtime] the singer moves independently of the beat.
Thanks for the help. Forgot all about looking in the vocals section of the authoring docs. Thanks again.
