ParticipantCan anyone recommend a 32 gig USB stick that is up to Xbox 360 standards? I just got a pair of Sandisk Cruzer drives, and after configuring them, the system tells me that they aren’t up to Xbox standards. So I’ve wasted $25. Anyone found a good one?

mercuryshadow09MemberI’m pretty sure most or all say that, all of my flash drives say that but they work just fine.

TrojanNemoParticipantI’m pretty sure it’s based on write read speed. Mine doesn’t say it but it’s a standard usb 2.0 8gig one, nothing fancy.

NyxyxylythParticipantSpend the extra dollar and get a USB 3.0 stick. My Xbox hasn’t thrown up that message for even the most squalid 3.0 stick.

ParticipantI would have spent for the officially-sanctioned and Xbox-logo-stickered sticks, but they don’t currently market any in 32-gig. I have a bunch of 8- and 16-gig sticks that work fine. It never even occurred to me to look at 3.0 models. Once I’m done smacking myself in the forehead, that’s what I’ll try next.

funkydunklemanParticipantI’m not sure how reliable the 360 “standards” are. I remember configuring a stick that it said was good, then wiping it a few months later. When I configured it again it said it wasn’t good enough.

I use one for customs, have a second that holds my rb3 save, online rb3 cache and my profile, and a third that is filled with all of my not-so-party-friendly songs. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and complain loudly if they do anything that I don’t like.

SideshowParticipantI’ve used several Sandisk 16, 32, GB sticks of which gave me the “Hey, Why arent you meeting our Standards” error but I have yet to experience problems playing RB3 customs with them.

InactiveI honestly was wondering this myself as my current 2GB flash stick doesn’t work with my new PC. (No matter what I do, it ends me needing to reconfig it and having to redo the whole process.). Though even before so with my old PC, I had to use the stuff in a specific manner for it to work correctly, otherwise I have problem… So ye’h, I do too need a new flash drive.
I’m NEVER setting up my 32GB flash drive for X360 and my other 2GB cannot be config’d at all…
Glad this thread popped up though since it gave me a few ideas to look into.
~EDIT~
For the record, I only need maybe a 2GB flashdrive since I move my customs onto my X360’s HDD. Never had a problem with them being on my HDD so I’m sticking to that.

MemberI just the other week got into customs, and I bought a PNY Attache III 32 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (P-FD32GATT03-GE). It’s working fine so far, at least the xbox didn’t complain, and it’s about half full now with customs and such. I was running into a problem with copying the customs to it (via another drive, to get around the 200 file limit issue) that every time I copied a file, the xbox would take longer afterwards to go back to the file list. I suspect the xbox is just terribad at large numbers of files on a flash drive and reading the directory info + all the file info.
Once I realized I could make my own packs with C3 Con Tools, that’s what I did. Now there’s like ~100 or something packs on there (mostly I just packaged them according to the “pack” it was released on C3 as, or whichever GH/album/whatever it was from, and then for anything else just rolled them up into ~20-25 song packs that usually spanned a month or two of singles). That is working MUCH better, since the xbox sees fewer files …

Jimi369ModeratorI have two Sandisk Cruzer 32 GB sticks and both times I got the warning from the Xbox saying they aren’t up to standards.
When I chose to format them a second time right after that message, all was well.
No more warnings, just a confirmation notice.

MemberI use the 16 GB version of the Kingston Data Traveler 101 and the Xbox doesn’t complain and I’ve had no problems. There is a 32 GB version available at that link for thirteen bucks.
