No idea, only worked with sticks for Xbox.
May 8, 2013 at 10:42 am #399369It could be the same issue — how many customs do you have on there in the Saved Game folder?
May 10, 2013 at 6:23 am #399482Does the new repackaging program alleviate the problem for those that don’t wish to copy to 360 hard drive?
May 10, 2013 at 10:41 am #399485Does the new repackaging program alleviate the problem for those that don’t wish to copy to 360 hard drive? If they’re all in one file you shouldn’t have any problems (RB:HP currently loads 334 upgrades in one package successfully), so… yes!
May 10, 2013 at 1:57 pm #399489For whatever reason, I have about 400 customs on my drive and have yet to encounter this issue.
– Running standard unmodded Xbox. HDMI non-slim model.
– I use Party Buffalo to inject, but I always use the Xbox itself to remove files
– My second memory device (used for TU5) is an official Xbox MU. I get files onto it (like RBHP and my own dummy .dta files) by injecting to the USB stick and copying via Xbox storage settings.
– I keep customs on my USB stick, haven’t moved any to the hard drive yet.
– I always try to look in Party Buffalo and the Xbox storage settings to confirm that anything I injected is showing up. I keep my customs save folder sorted by “Date Modified” in Party Buffalo, so I can scroll to the bottom and see everything that was added at a glance.
Can’t really think of anything else. To summarize, the main “thing” I do is to use the Xbox itself for as much of these operations as possible. Not sure if that is actually helping me or if I just got lucky with my brand of USB stick or what.
May 11, 2013 at 2:35 pm #399520An update:
I decided that I didn’t want the customs on the hard drive, so I tried the two stick method and that works. I use Party Buffalo to put customs on a smaller USB stick, and then I put that stick in the XBox and move those customs to my 32 GB stick that contains all my customs. I’ve been using this method for a couple of weeks, and I have 376 files in my Rock Band 3 folder on the stick now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Unfortunately, now I seem to have hit some limit in the game that causes the game to freeze when trying to add a new song. I’m going to create another topic on that. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
May 12, 2013 at 5:29 am #399551I dont know if this effects everybody but there was two songs from the custom song list that caused my game to freeze when loading content. Metallica “Enter Sandman” from the Christmas Pack and Scar Symmetry “The Missing co ordinates”.

I don’t have the Scar Symmetry song.
May 13, 2013 at 8:11 am #399563Yep, the unofficial export version of Enter Sandman is fine. The one in the Christmas pack not so much.
May 31, 2013 at 7:10 pm #400327Well I’m not sure what changed, but I had to reload songs on my stick and then finally ran into the famous 256-file limit. But I switched to the two-stick method and now that’s working out fine. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
June 1, 2013 at 12:27 pm #400351I don’t know how Party Buffalo got so popular with this bug. I suggest using USBXTAFGUI instead.
June 8, 2013 at 3:58 am #400865I had that problem when I “injected” lots of files at once (>100 maybe)
Now I inject about 12 and repeat.
Could be a coincidence though…as I also bought a new USB drive
