I feel really dumb after reading this thread. For quite some time I was wondering why the hell is Boston “More than a Feeling” freezing on me after installing the RBHP + optional upgrades. Well its the damn official Pro Guitar/Bass upgrade file is whats conflicting. Glad to have finally figured this out. What would be the best way to convert all my official Pro Guitar/Bass upgrades files so they act like the unofficial Pro Guitar/Bass upgrades found in the RBHP optional folders? I would like to delete all of these official upgrades off my harddrive and install them via the RBHP packager method where we trick the song cache. Then I would imagine no more console freezing will occur when picking these types of songs that have official Pro Guitar upgrades.

You weren’t the only one who was a little slow on the uptake, so don’t feel too bad. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

For songs like “More than a Feeling” where there will be other upgrades, you will need to merge the MIDI tracks and the upgrades.dta information into single files. REAPER and C3 Con Tools again can help you with this. One small caveat: when merging MIDI files, make sure you import the tempo map from only one of the files, and also make sure both files import starting at measure 1.
I say “I believe” because I actually went a slightly different route to solve the problem, one that is probably less kosher and probably less likely to work with TU5, but for what I wanted it works well enough.
Edit: And now I see that was posted in May. Oopsie. Oh well, I’ll leave my answer here for anyone else who might stumble along.

Thanks for the tips on doing this. I was waiting for the next RBHP release for me to tinker with these songs that have pro guitar/bass and harmonies upgrades.
