It can’t be the licensing thing. I did a license transfer and re-downloaded all my songs about 2 months ago, right before I started using any customs/going back to TU4. It’s only affecting the oldest DLC…maybe the first 2 years’ worth.
I can try TU5 offline, I suppose, but what a headache.
If that’s a no-go, then what do I do?
June 10, 2014 at 12:42 am #422157I can try TU5 offline, I suppose, but what a headache. That’s just to get the data point that it’s *not* the licensing problem. If you can’t play them offline with TU5, then there’s something up with the licensing/gamertag/etc.
June 10, 2014 at 10:17 pm #422210OK, went back to TU5. Tried playing while not signed it…nope, the songs don’t work.
Tried playing while signed in…yep, worked fine. So somehow the licensing is screwed up?
Another “data point” here…some songs were bought under my gamertag, some were bought under my wife’s gamertag. All songs bought with hers (regardless of age), work fine under TU4 with customs. It’s just the ones bought under my gametag that seem to be wonky.
Next?
June 10, 2014 at 10:58 pm #422211Somehow the licensing is screwed up. Did you do the license transfer with both gamertags, or just your wife’s?
June 10, 2014 at 11:35 pm #422215I thought I had done it under mine. Would’ve made the most sense since I’m the primary player.
Was I supposed to do the transfer with both of us signed in? Will it let me do another transfer?

It’s been forever since I did it, but since the first step is signing in with your gamertag, I figured maybe it only lists the licenses for that gamertag:

On your console, sign in to Xbox Live using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.Don’t know your gamertag? See Download, move, or delete your Xbox Live profile.
Need to find your Microsoft account? See Find your Microsoft account.
Can’t remember the password for your Microsoft account? See Recover your Microsoft account password.
Go to Settings and select Account.
Under Your Billing Options, select License Transfer.
Follow the instructions to transfer the content licenses.
After the licenses are transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licenses. For information about how to do this, see Download content you’ve previously purchased.
June 11, 2014 at 12:28 am #422220Tried to do the transfer…keeps giving me error message “Unable to connect to XBOX Live”, even though I am very much connected. Tried multiple times. Went through this headache before. Not sure how I got it to go through last time.
Can’t play songs. Can’t transfer license. So basically now I’m stuck.

Your wife’s gamertag connects to Xbox live, but yours doesn’t? Are you paid up?
June 11, 2014 at 12:59 am #422224Silver should still work.
Call Microsoft support if you can’t do the licence transfer.
June 11, 2014 at 1:00 am #422225We can both connect to Xbox Live.
I currently cannot do a license transfer using either account.
We both have silver accounts, so I’m not sure why I’d have to be “paid up”.
June 11, 2014 at 1:31 am #422227Have you tried going on your computer & trying it through xbox live on there? might not be any help but worth a try
June 11, 2014 at 1:34 am #422228I looked to see if it was possible to do a transfer on the website, but couldn’t find where to do that.
June 11, 2014 at 10:47 am #422248I hope this helps

If not you have to call them.
June 11, 2014 at 2:05 pm #422259Those instructions only show how to do a transfer via the Xbox (I know how to do this already, as I’ve said before). I didn’t know if there was a way to do it through the website.
I appreciate everyone’s help thus far, although I fell like I’m kinda going in circles now.
