Damn, you were not kidding… Images and Words might be the best thing C3’s released so far! Thank you so much for all your hard work bringing progressive rock to the customs world!
I’d like to officially nominate Farottone for “Customs Hero of the Year 2014” ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
April 1, 2014 at 11:57 pm #416790Wow. Quite a workout on the drums. Learning to Live is a monster song. Thanks Farottone!
When I get a chance, I’m going to tally what authors have authored prog and prog related songs. Our “leaderboard” of sorts.
Perhaps everybody could post the #1 prog album (or maybe 5) that they want, so we can give our prog loving authors some motivation.
April 2, 2014 at 12:33 am #416794Hmm… Top 5 prog albums I want in Rock Band?
I’d say:
- 1– Deadwing
2– Crime Of The Century
3– Stupid Dream
4– Metropolis Part II: Scenes From A Memory
5– The Dark Side Of The Moon
I hate to leave out Animals and Close To The Edge, but they only have three songs each (not counting Pigs On The Wing) and we already have Dogs. (Thank you BearzUnlimited!)
And I know In Absentia’s not there, but… BAH it’s so hard to choose!
Perhaps we could tally up the community’s favourite prog albums to make a “most wanted” list?

That’s what I had meant to say! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Ill start tallying when we get more replies and ill post it on the OP.
As for mine:
1. Rush: Permanent Waves
2. Dream Theater: Met Pt. 2
3. Heart of Cygnus: Over Mountain, Under Hill
4. Porcupine Tree: Fear of a Blank Planet
5. Umphrey’s McGee: Mantis
April 2, 2014 at 9:21 am #416805No Genesis in two top 5 prog album list? Is that a cruel joke or something?
April 2, 2014 at 12:41 pm #416808My top 5 would probably be something like:
Rush – Clockwork Angels
Spock’s Beard – Day For Night
Dream Theater -Octavarium
Kansas – Kansas
Flying Colors – Flying Colors
April 2, 2014 at 10:13 pm #416835Octavarium is also updated in some part.My top 5 be something like that:
Periphery-Periphery 2:This time is personal
Dream Theater- Metropolis pt 2:Scenes from a Memory
TesseracT- Altered state
Karnivool-Assymetry
Haken- The mountain
April 4, 2014 at 6:00 pm #416994I’ve got a little surprise for drummers and singers coming up outside of the C3 pipeline. Nothing that was specifically requested but definitely something prog. Stay tuned. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I loved The Mountain. I would love to have Cockroach King as a song.
Once we get one more top five list, ill throw together a standings on the OP.
April 9, 2014 at 10:38 pm #417393April 10, 2014 at 4:12 am #417441I’m working on Enchant’s A Blueprint of the World, but not C3 grade, just drums and vocals. It’s a great album, check it out. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />SURPRISE! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
I’m gonna check it out when I get a chance.
Any chance we could get your personal top five prog albums? I’d add you to the existing tally and perhaps have a special “authors” section where we can look to see what the authors like?

I have never been too much into ONE single genre to give a comprehensive view. I got into progressive rock late and my traditional prog rock knowledge is very limited, I would end up mentioning Genesis, Dream Theater and some obscure acts that are certainly not top 5. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

April 10, 2014 at 10:46 pm #417520and what happenned with king crimson?nobody loves king crimson hereI honestly need to listen to em more as I keep hearing wonderful things about them. I have a fair amount of their music that haven’t listened to.
Been listening to Major Parkinson’s new album. They’re a really weird eclectic prog band from one of the Scandinavian countries. Really wild stuff, they ton have a ton of really long songs but shorter songs with interesting structure.
Here’s one of their songs (it’s not too long): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jzlqMtZiJk
- 1– Deadwing
