Thanks for the Time Bomb custom. This should’ve been posted in the database, but oh well!
It’s actually there, you just have to search for “Timebomb” instead of “Time Bomb”.
I understand the confusion, though.

February 10, 2020 at 8:18 pm #509627The Live at Leeds version of “Summertime Blues” is considered the Who’s definitive version. In fact, while they were recorded before Live at Leeds the studio versions (more than one) were not released until 1998 and beyond. So I don’t think we need a studio custom for that one.
And llke ATrueJedi said, the live version of Peter Frampton’s “Do You Feel like We Do” is also the definitive one. In this case, the studio version did actually come out first, but no one knows it.
You could have also listed Cheap Trick’s “I Want You to Want Me”, but there’s no need. The live one is again the definitive one.

Thanks for telling about Summertime Blues. I also found out Young Man Blues does not have a studio version so we don’t need a custom for that.
February 11, 2020 at 1:28 am #509632The live version of Drunken Lullabies is the definitive version, heretic.
Even moreso with Frampton!!! Listen to the studio version and tell me why you would want it.
But yeah, the live Supersonic by Oasis is crap. And interesting list! Thanks for the knowledge.
Now that I have seen the differences between the two, you are correct. Live version is the definitive version for Do You Feel Like We Do. It is much longer (fourteen minutes compared to the six minutes of the studio version) and the studio version is apparently slightly slower. Thanks for telling me!
February 11, 2020 at 1:28 pm #509639Can we list cases where a cover/re-recording/live version is the only version released as a C3 custom?
Examples:
KISS – Shout It Out Loud (GH5 re-recording)
Reel Big Fish – Beer

Actually there was a studio version of Young Man Blues, it was on Odds and Sods (but the Leeds version is far superior)
February 12, 2020 at 2:59 pm #509662The Ultimate Showdown was re-recorded for RBN, don’t believe the original/Dinosaurchestra version has been charted yet
February 12, 2020 at 5:50 pm #509663Well technically the studio version of “I Want You to Want Me” did come out first. The At Budoken version is more popular and more often played but not truly the original “definitive” version. I don’t think it’s bad either, might be worth just putting on the list imo.

Thanks for telling me guys. I had already made changes to the list to accommodate to these statements.

This list does not show songs that were exclusively released in RBN, but I might consider making a list with RBN songs that fit into this category (live to studio & re-recorded to original).
February 12, 2020 at 9:32 pm #509666I need some clarification. Are we allowed to post an original version if Harmonix has a re-recorded version? Like basically every twister sister dlc is

I believe so. I remember checking the rules on posting customs and there was a rule that stated you were allowed to make customs for official Harmonix songs that use a re-recorded version instead of the original. Otherwise, I wouldn’t list the re-recordings.

Also (not that is is wholly important) The Who has a recording of Summertime Blues that predates the Leeds show (found in the deluxe version of The Who Sells Out)
March 19, 2020 at 12:20 pm #510326kinda new to CC but I have a question, is there a thread or a drive or smthn one or many people converted the harmonix songs to customs that can be downloaded without buying them? i’m missing a lot of classics bcz of that ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> thank u
