Hi folks.
Speedy hints here for a subset of this week’s releases. Sorry I don’t have time to come up with anything craftier. Maybe next week…
- Many folks called this band criminally underrepresented in Rock Band (and with only one DLC release, who can blame ’em), so C3’s giving them another release with their very first single.
- This track from a Scottish artist, sharing a title with another Rock Band track from a New Jersey band, would end up being the artist’s only North American hit.
- The middle section of this track from two solo artists previously appearing in Harmonix rhythm games sounds an awful lot like what comes out of my bowels a few hours after eating KFC.
- This pop-rock trio has been active for over twenty years, but nothing has come close to matching the success of their single-word debut single.
Blink 182 w/ Dammit?
I could always go for more blink 182. Need more of those great deep cuts. Aliens Exist was such a tease on Lego Rock Band.

I can’t believe this hint stumped me the first time around. Came back and thought about it, and remembered one of my favourite bands…
I am guessing that this is The Decemberists’ “Billy Liar”, which (I think) was their first single. The only song they had in DLC was “The Perfect Crime”. Criminally underrepresented, indeed…

Really hoping this was Del Amitri’s Roll To Me, however as My Chemical Romance have a song called “Sing”, and that was the only song by the Scottish band Travis to chart in the US, my guess for this clue is Travis – Sing

This would be even better than Travis (several magnitudes better, in fact)
I wish the first hint was Midnight Oil with “Beds are Burning” unfortunately its not their first single.

The hint did say ‘artist’ and Travis is a band. This fits better imo. I’ve been hunting for Scottish artists with a similar song name to a Bon Jovi track, but I thought that ‘Jersey’ thing made it a little too obvious for it to be Bon Jovi. (my first hunt was on Donovan).

True, I just assumed they were using ‘artist’ as a catch-all as to not make the hint too obvious (not that it was obvious, it took a fair bit of searching to come up with Travis), and I also – shamefully – totally forgot that The Smithereens had songs in the game.
Also, I’m hoping the ‘rock trio’ is Ben Folds Five, however any clue that is even tangentially related to them I hope that to be the case.

They are twenty years old as of 2013, and Brick is by far their most successful song. Funny, I was just thinking this week about what that song would author like in RB. It would be fun for the keys people, I suppose!
Ben Folds is coming but I thought PK Sage said they were scheduled for October. Unless were getting them for multiple weeks.
