      Hi folks.

Just a couple of fairly simple hints for this week’s tracks as this was an RB:HP release week and, when combined with other goings on, I didn’t have a chance to get creative.

      • Before enjoying success as a solo act, this new-to-Rock Band artist enjoyed great success in the 80s with a group — including this immediately recognizable hit single.
      • Members of this band have featured prominently in Rock Band, both on disc and as DLC. This single from their second album was the only track from their first two albums to chart in the US.
      • Previously featured in a Harmonix title, this track would be the band’s highest charting in the US and UK, and one of three from this album to hit #1 on the genre-specific charts in the US.
      • The fact that this band was not featured on the “Snakes on a Plane” soundtrack is a travesty. Fortunately, we’re making up for it by giving you their biggest hit.

This makes me think it’s either a supergroup or QotSA. If it’s QotSA, it has to be “The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret,” as it was the only single to hold a position on a US chart from their first two albums

I’m putting my money on Genesis/Phil Collins as they are NOT on Rock Band and you charters had referenced working on some of their songs before… Plus they may have started in 1967 but their greatest moments and success was in the 80s… And the immediately recognizable hit single? “In The Air Tonight” which was released as a single in the United Kingdom in January 1981… I mean seriously, who can’t recognize that song? (Assuming they’ve listened to the song before).

It all fits well together. But I can easily be wrong… I’m normally not good at these games. We shall see though on Friday.

        Cobra Starship? <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />

@Jusey, In The Air Tonight is Phill Collins. I’m hoping for Land Of Confusion or Mama. IF it’s Genesis…

…They’re the band with the only hit single from the snakes on a plane soundtrack.

Lol, never saw the movie. :v:

The hint specifically mention an “artist who was part of a famous group” and the song is a “single that is immediately recognized”.

So the group would be Genesis. The artist is Phil Collins. “In The Air Tonight” is a single that was basicly a hit and extremely famous… Would be easy to recognized that song immediately just cause how good it was! It all fits.

Oh and I’ve never watched Snakes on the Plane as I found the idea rather… Stupid, so to say… Just me though.

I would have guessed White Snake for the Snakes on a Plane hint, but I’m pretty sure we have their biggest bit. Slash’s Snake Pit?

The sentence structure implies it is a song that was a hit single with the group. It /is/ a little sloppy, so interpret it as follows:

“This 80s single is from a group with a member who would later go on to enjoy great solo success.”

So, it’s not a solo track, but one of the group’s tracks.

Alrighty then. Still though, would be lovely if it is the group either way.

Genesis / Phil Collins seems obvious… maybe we need to look somewhere else?

                Wham! / George Michael maybe? <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Yeah, something tells me its not Genesis/Phil Collins. That seems like the obvious answer, but as we know…it rarely ever is the obvious one.

It could definitely be Wham!….maybe Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go?

Yeah, I think “Here I Go Again” was their biggest hit….but it could be “Is This Love”…that was a big hit as well.

That hint is not really about snakes, strictly, but oddly a Scottish/Aussie mix.

Only Scottish/Aussie band I can think of is AC/DC?
