Welcome to the new C3 hints thread. My name is Nunchuck. You may have seen me in the other customs forum doing hints. This is my new gig. I made it to the big league.I hope you all enjoy the hints.

Let me start by saying, these hints may or may not include all songs to be released.

    Let’s play…

    – First off a pack of songs that all appear in the Rolling Stone magazine “500 greatest songs of all time”. The pack includes a song that was in multiple rhythm games, an act’s first stereo single and one track that needed a change in lyrics to remove product endorsements.

    – Does this track qualify as a “Jock Jam” because in part it led a team to several NBA titles and is used for college football entrances.

    – Despite coming from a magical album, this song disappointed me when I found out it nothing to do with trains.

    – Another song gives me deja vu, that is all I’m saying. That’s right, I think there is something fishy about this one.

These are coming pretty late this week. In the future, I will get them out sooner. I hope you enjoy the fun and games. Put your thinking caps on, rockers.

I would like to thank Farottone for the mentoring. Without his help, this would have never been the dream come true it is.

Rock out with your big brains.

If we are getting “Lola,” by the Kinks, I will squeal like a suspiciously low-pitched woman!

Hey it’s Nunchuck, the hints machine!

That first pack sounds intriguing but I need more time to think about it.

My guess for 2 is “Whoomp! (There it is)” by Tag Team

I gotta think about the others.

I’m guessing Kayleigh by Marillion – wasnt this pulled from Nunchucks thread a few weeks back … :raise:

    • Agree with questionmark that the product placement one has to be Lola.
    • First stereo single…Brown Sugar by the Stones?
    • Multiple rhythm games…No idea. But if the theme is classic rock songs with scandalous lyrics…Louie Louie? (“unintelligible at any speed” is one of my favorite quotes in history)

Might not be right, but this makes me think of Sirius by the Alan Parsons Project. I still get goosebumps when I hear that song remembering MJ and the Bulls being introduced to that music.

Love that the hint thread is back. Thanks, Nunchuck!

[*]First stereo single…Brown Sugar by the Stones?

While Brown Sugar does seem to be a very early, possibly the first, stereo single by the Stones, no one has told me to take my version down so I doubt it is that one

We don’t ALWAYS do that, it’s a case by case basis because the less we tamper with your work the happier we are. This does NOT mean I’m commenting on the hint, only on the policy.

Well, it also seems that Honky Tonk Women, at least, may have been released as a single in stereo before Brown Sugar, so the hint might not indicate Brown Sugar anyway

I could be wrong, though, but it’s more likely the hint refers to some other artist entirely anyway. We’ll find out in less than 23 hours!!!

I had no idea about your Stones thread, that’s awesome! There’s lots of conflicting info out there on the Interwebs about which song was the first stereo single, but I definitely defer to your expertise. Add to the mix I am almost always WAAAY off on these things and I’m pretty sure you’re right.

Yeah, I may be a huge Stones fan, but even I had a lot of difficulty finding out the truth behind the singles’ stereocity. In general, most of the 60s era Stones singles were released in Mono, even if the album they appeared on was recorded in stereo. There are a few outliers, like Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Honky Tonk Women, that did not appear on albums and may have had stereo singles, but that information is hard to find nowadays.

Also, glad you found my thread Hope you enjoy the songs. Someday I hope to put more out.
