I’m actually impressed C3 even has a section for people to request songs. Obviously since this takes so much time and dedication, you’re mostly gonna chart what YOU want, which is as it should be. Obviously, though, there are some community-minded people here, who like taking on coordinated charting projects “for the community.”
Normally I’d never bother making a request since, again, it should be up to you guys. That said, how cool would it be if you guys coordinated such that one week (or two, or three, it is a lot of tracks), where you released an RB3 Version for all of the As Made Famous By covers? It would be pretty rad to get “real” versions of:
Foreigner – Jukebox Hero
T. Rex – Bang a Gong (Get it On)
the Knack – My Sharona
the Runaways – Cherry Bomb
David Bowie – Heroes
Black Sabbath pack
Buzzcocks – Ever Fallen in Love
the Pretenders – Brass in Pocket
the Sounds – Song with a Mission
Black Crowes – Hard to Handle
Sweet – Action
Coheed and Cambria – Ten Speed
Blur – Beetlebum
the Monkees – Last Train to Clarksville
So that’s 15 songs, assuming I didn’t miss any. Obviously that’s a lot of work, so I totally get it if your only response is “Do it yerself” (if only I could). Hopefully elements of the charts could be re-used when making original versions, perhaps making it a bit easier.
Something to think about!
September 8, 2013 at 10:39 pm #405851I would LOVE the original Brass in Pocket.
September 9, 2013 at 12:01 am #405864I totally would have bought the Black Sabbath pack had they been originals, so I’d probably get any “Original Versions” should they come out.
September 9, 2013 at 3:57 am #405884IMO, My Sharona is a fantastic cover, and totally doesn’t need an (Original Version) release. Action is a good cover too. Similarly, The Monkees are already a fake band, so I’ve never taken issue with that cover. Cherry Bomb and Beetlebum just suck.
This is a good idea, though. Paranoid, Ballroom Blitz, War Pigs, Brass in Pocket, Song with a Mission, Hard to Handle, and Ten Speed (especially those last two) could really use it. I’d break it up as a Sabbath 3-pack (Paranoid, War Pigs, Iron Man), a Pretenders 3-pack (Brass in Pocket, Back on the Chain Gang, I’ll Stand by You), a Coheed 3-pack (Ten Speed, The Suffering, Blood Red Summer), and then the other ones could be the pack.

September 9, 2013 at 2:53 pm #405909I can say that I’ve been definitely thinking about doing one of these.
