Thank you to all the authors for this fabulous pack and for all the customs made this year. CCC has breathed new life into Rock Band – I even bought an X-box because of you guys, you should get commission lol.
Sorry to see Trojan Nemo depart, I just hope he keeps an eye on this place so that we can ask for his help when we get stuck. Thank you for all the hours you have spent creating these awesome tools – I hope someday I will find the time to use them all when creating my own customs. Thank you it’s been emotional

Hey guys, I’m the one they call drummerockband, but you may also call me Brendan. The track I have brought you today is from my favorite band Tegan and Sara (I still haven’t seen them live. COME NEAR MY TOWN AT LEAST YOU QUIN SISTERS!). Their new album “Heartthrob” was released in January of this (soon to be last) year. After listening to it multiple times, I fell in love with it. It is my favorite album of 2013. So that’s why I’ve brought their radio hit “Closer”. Now that I got that out of the way, I’d like you to get to know me a bit.I started to play rhythm games when the first Guitar Hero game came out. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I’ve loved rhythm games ever since. When I found out about RBN, my first thought was “I NEED XNA RIGHT NOW SO I CAN PLAY SONGS I CHARTED!” My first ever chart “Barbie Girl” by Aqua was the result (you can find it somewhere on the forums, if you’d like). I look back on it now and then I look at this track released today, and this shows how far along I’ve gotten with my charting.
The genres I most enjoy are Indie Rock, New Wave (Synthpop), Classic Rock, and some Jazz (think Steely Dan, Brian Setzer, or Norah Jones) AND DON’T FORGET WEIRD AL YANKOVIC! (I was one of the masterminds behind that ginormous pack ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> ). I also tend to enjoy female singers over male singers. It’s just something about the sound that I really enjoy. Oh, and I love Canadian artists (except the Biebs and Nickelback, sorry fans of these artists ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>) because I’m Canadian too!
When I author songs, I usually go for the drums or vocals first (after the tempo map of course!). I feel I’m better at charting them over guitar and bass. I usually play Rock Band by myself, except for every Christmas Eve when I have the family over and we play all night! But I still enjoy playing them by myself.
One more thing you should know. I’m a gigantic gamer and am very sarcastic, so please don’t take things seriously from me if I seem to have a silly comment every once in a while! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”> See you in 2014 when I attempt to release more quality Rock Band songs! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Check back tomorrow for day 9 of the Twelve Days of Customs!
(Remember, this is just a reveal; all twelve songs will be released in a megapack on December 25.)
December 20, 2013 at 3:19 pm #410962except the Biebs and NickelbackAs a Canadian I, and all the other Canadians I know, would concur with your opinion and take no offence.
Thanks for the kickass song. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
December 20, 2013 at 3:42 pm #410963Sweet. Love to have more Tegan and Sara!

Hi, I’m jaychuck. I like Rock Band. When I’m not on that, I like to write online as a freelancer. I have a website called Common Reactor that I update every once in a while with either original or linked content (mostly reviews) about the current state of independent music.I’m new to the C3 team, so I haven’t had as long of a time as others to release many custom content. My only previous track is Substitution by Silversun Pickups. My future content will try to represent a sect of Rock Band players that, like me, generally like the indie music scene (spanning genres such as indie rock, alternative, new wave, punk, pop, electronica, hip hop, dance rock, indie folk, etc.), though both past and present influences are open game. If you follow current music culture or organizations from either print or online like Pitchfork or Rolling Stone, you’ll get a sense of the music I listen to. If you really want a better idea of what I listen to and may look to chart in the future, check out my last.fm account.
As for the song for today’s 12 Days, I thought Royals by Lorde would be a great fit. We were essentially told to pick big songs for this project and I don’t think there was a bigger pop phenomenon this year than Royals. It’s a song that really changed the perception of what a Top 40 song of this generation could sound like: minimalist atmosphere, hip hop influences, and realistic worldviews all from a 16-year-old New Zealander. The triple harmony vocals alone make for a fun time in the game, but drummers will be surprised how tricky the patterns can be here too. Hopefully this will be a great fit to your RB library. Enjoy, everybody.
Check back tomorrow for day 10 of the Twelve Days of Customs!

December 21, 2013 at 10:17 pm #411011I had a feeling somebody was going to do Lorde for this pack. It was literally impossible to avoid hearing the song this year.

December 21, 2013 at 11:11 pm #411017Well I live just outside of Hollywood California and this song is played on the local radio stations it seems once every hour. Whether your going to a public restaurant or listening to the radio in your car this song has probably been the most popular song this year that I have heard.
December 21, 2013 at 11:14 pm #411018this song is played on the local radio stations it seems once every hour. That’s the same here on the east coast. What you and I got in common is we both live in the U.S. What NightmareLyre and farottone have in common is neither of them do. It’s definitely a huge song. In here. But we forget there’s a whole world beyond the US ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
December 22, 2013 at 12:53 am #411022As a New Zealander I can confirm that Royals is enormous, but just in the US and NZ. Excited to have it on RockBand regardless though!

But yeah. It’s pretty big in Canada as well.
