Looking forward to giving the Bon Jovi song a listen.
I’ve gotta say, I’m enjoying that the authors get to share some personal thoughts about the songs they’ve custom-ified. Maybe consider letting them do so during regular releases?

We only let them out of the authoring cages for very brief periods of time so this will probably be a one time only thing. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to check if they have water and food for the next week.
December 15, 2013 at 9:20 pm #410734I just went and read this thread now. This is a great idea and so far is having good songs come as a result of it.
Even if I’m late to this, I would like to jump on the “Bon Voyage, TrojanNemo” bandwagon and say that we salute you, your custom endeavors, and your life ahead of you.
Of the one’s revealed so far, I’m excited for Innuendo the most. However, I will convert all twelve of these to FoFiX (my default method of playing since my copy of RB3 broke) as soon as they are released.
If C3 does something like this next year, hopefully I can contribute.

Our songs will be offered in Phase Shift format (along with Wii format) shortly after they are released for Xbox. Any reason you use FoFiX over PhaseShift?

I just started out that way. And I could never get PhaseShift to sync right.
I’ve actually converted a ton of songs on here. Kinda just pick out what I like. Even have tried to make some charts of my own for here (or just a tempo map + Expert Guitar/Drums/Keys/Bass) in order to give back to the community, but since I never really adjusted to REAPER (something about it just confuses me), it’s really a no go for me charting stuff for C3 at the moment.
December 16, 2013 at 11:37 am #410744And who knows, we might see some more Sonic the Hedgehog at some point too.Be sure they will be played. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Today’s track is about as deep a cut as it’s gonna get in this pack. While I could have done one of Tool’s bigger songs, most are already available elsewhere, and I wanted to do a whole new song for this pack. It is also this author’s opinion that this song is one of their best, since it has such raw energy and driving force behind it.As the presenter of today’s announced track, I feel it’s best that I let you guys get to know me a little bit. I am a fan of progressive rock, metal, and any experimental music, as well as electronic. So far I’ve released a few metalcore songs from Enter Shikari and iwrestledabearonce, as well as a few other songs in different genres, ranging from “Monster Mash†to “Bagger 288!†to name a few. Prior to C3, I worked both solo and with other authors in the RBN. I worked on the venue and practice sections on a few songs from TAG, including “Impulse†by An Endless Sporadic and the ridiculously titled “Let the Blood Spill Between My Broken Teeth†by Benighted, as well as the bass charts to “I Like Trains†by Lil’ Deuce Deuce and “Make the Sauce†by Vegan Black Metal Chef. I’ve also released a few songs I wrote myself, though back then my music seemed to be focused less on actually sounding decent and more on cramming as many notes in a measure as possible.
When I author songs, my favorite part would have to be guitar/bass, since those are the instruments I tend to play the most on Rock Band, and therefore have the most connection with. My least favorite would have to be the drums, simply because for me it’s too easy to mistake so many different sounds for something they are not. My overall personal policy for authoring is that realism in terms of notes matching up being the most important part, but the charts should also be as fun as they can be.
My personal favorite songs on Rock Band would have to be the overly-long epics, namely “2112″ by Rush and “Veil of Illumination†by Andromeda. There’s just something to jamming out to a lengthy prog epic on Rock Band, especially if said songs are a fun challenge (at least it’s fun on guitar. Veil of Illumination Pt. 2 on keys would probably not be most people’s definition of “funâ€). I tend to play with Xbox Live friends and fellow C3 authors whenever they’re up for it, and I also take my game to social outings among friends.
Thanks for letting me take the time to introduce myself a little better. Look forward to a lot of stuff from me in 2014, including some very well-known songs and even more stuff as obscure as Unicron (there’s people who enjoy the obscure shit, right? RIGHT?!).
Check back tomorrow for day 5 of the Twelve Days of Customs!
(Remember, this is just a reveal; all twelve songs will be released in a megapack on December 25.)

When farottone and I came up with the idea for this pack, we were stoked to get some of the community’s biggest wishlist songs out there. To me, “Flagpole Sitta†is the very definition of a community wishlist song — even Harmonix is on record as saying they really wanted it, but the licensing never panned out. Harvey Danger’s one-hit wonder is a staple of ’90s rock and is simultaneously an anthem of both the genuine and the sarcastic. There are few ’90s songs that can get the whole bar drunkenly singing along to the chorus as well as “Flagpole Sittaâ€.I’ve always been a sucker for well-organized Rock Band databases, and my final iteration of several such lists is Rock Band Chronicle. I stumbled across C3 when I was talking to espher about RBHP in early 2013. “Hey,†he said, “now that you mention customs, we’re planning this thing…†I figured that RBC would be a good start for a customs database, and then I was sucked in for good. I ended up, as you might have seen, running not just the DB, but the forums and blog as well. Still, my involvement in C3 is mostly administrative. I’ve only authored a handful of songs next to juggernauts like farottone or NL.
I was pretty involved with RBN in its early days, doing dozens of charts for Rhythm Authors and then nine songs on my own, mostly from Dance for the Dying. I’ve been a music game junkie since ~2001 thanks to DDR, and a fan of guitar games since a few months before the release of GH2. When I’m not breaking our forums or procrastinating on authoring a song, I’m spending time with my wife (or my Corgi, cat, or chinchilla), playing The Kingdom of Loathing, or just generally dicking around on the Internet. I live a glamorous life.
Thank you so much, all of you, for making C3 such a runaway success. We’ve been so stoked to release songs for you every week for 36 weeks now, and we’re hoping to stick around for many more. (Man, 36 weeks. If we were Harmonix, we’d be releasing NIN 02 and Shinedown, having done The Who 12-pack last week.) Happy holidays, everyone!

December 17, 2013 at 3:06 pm #410781I had no idea what this song was until I watched the video. Turns out it’s the theme to ‘Peep Show’.
Who knew?!
Cheers fella. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
